It's actually surprising how many of those are true for me - not sure if the old wives were on to something or if they were just lucky!

I'm having a boy and ten of the old wives tales were right for me vs 3 of the girls ones (altho I didnt bother with any that required effort ie working things out or looking in mirrors lol)

ditto, boy and 12 were right, one of the girls' ones was too. I too was lazy and didn't do the effort requiring ones (though I did count on my fingers :p!)

    Hello All,

Well I am having a nice relaxing Sunday, got a roast cooking (its near enuff ready but I am waiting for OH to finish work, so in the meanwhile I am munching on Diary Milk, nice and healthy!)

I am just over 15 weeks, not showing at all yet but expecting it to spring on me! I am only 5"2 so I am hoping I dont get too big!! But I probably will! Thankfully all my clothes fit fine, some jeans were even too big following the weight I lost throwing up all the time, but I am sure I will catch up. I love the idea of taking pics of my bump, I should take one now and monitor it weekly! Swear I can feel fluttering from the baby, or is this way too early??

Thanks for your advise re: when did you start buying stuff for bubs, I spoke to OH and he told me to go for it, makes it feel more real. Nothing more until May tho!! I ordered a electric Steriliser, Bottle/ food warmer, breast pump, breast pads, pack of bibs, and 7 bottles (2 sizes) paid delivery, and even stocked up on Rowntrees Randoms (which I could happily live off!) and it came to £50 which I was pleased with. All baby items were tommee tippee closer to nature which is what I wanted. I worked out they would have cost over £100 normal price! I told mother and she told me off and said not to buy anything else!! Grrr!

Well I better get back to my cooking, and watching Grease!!!

I learnt very quickly not to listen to mine! She has an opinion on everything!

kitkat - sounds like you got some good bargains there. Did mother have a reason for telling you off, or is she being supersticious?

Glam - thats so scary! how time flies ...eek!

LMF & Nikkit - big fat honkin labour vibes for you both xx

EA, Kindof, Gymfiend - sending labour vibes your way too :D

Well dinner is on, realised last minute that the turkey joint I had needed using today so quickly threw together a stew and its now doing its thing in the slow cooker, tho I doubt it will be ready before 8pm. Been feeling even more yuck so plonked on the sofa and finished watching all of the eps of Glee I had downloaded so that was nice. Decided a shower would make me feel better and it did for a while, but now I feel like I wanna throw up :( Started my 24 hr urine collection and am a lil worried how dark it is, thats normally a sign of dehydration but am drinking plenty and did yesterday and friday too.

Have now let OH have TV for a while so will have to find something else to occupy me now.

  • well I am 12wks today no magic disappreance of sickness!! I am feeling really crap today woke up at 6am with a mega headache and feeling sick so went back to sleep til 9am and tried a cooling head pack and no luck, no paracetamol in house so husband went off to supermarket and depsite taking 2 still have a headache, have eaten crap all day so he is making a beef casserole.

had lots of snow here when we eventually got up at 11am!! but mostly melted now.
  • Afternoon all :)
We woke up to lots of snow here too. My OH went out to visit his parents first thing and crashed his car. Luckily he is fine but I always worry about him having a crash at the best of times because he drives a lot, just glad that no one was hurt.

Had another night of being super uncomfy. I'm really beginning to dread night times but oh well, it's all the fun and games of having a baby :D

Massive labour vibes to you Nikkit.
