Anyone got/had a hamster? My sis (age 24 :rolleyes:) is getting one for Christmas.. just wondering if there is a novelty thing I can get for her/the hamster Main pressie is sorted, this is just a small extra.

My Mam upset me yesterday. Last year I wanted to put my Christmas tree up and decs first to see Charlottes first reactions to them, but my Mam got hers up first so it wasn't really a surprise for Charlotte. This year I've been looking forward to putting it up for so long and seeing the expression and excitement on her face.

When I collected Charlotte yesterday, I asked my Mam if she would have her on the morning of the 16th so I could put my tree and decs up. Mam said it was fine and she thought she had an extra days holiday to use up, so she would ask if she could have it then so I'd have all day to put everything up. I told her how much I was looking forward to seeing her reaction and her excitement as she's got no idea that houses get decorated yet.

In the afternoon she emailed me from work and said she didn't have the holiday after all. I mailed back to say don't worry about it and I could probably get everything done in a morning anyway.

Then she emailed me back and said she was going to put hers up on the 12/13th so Charlotte will see them on the 14th when I'm at work.

I don't think I can get mine up any earlier than my Mam as I've got loads of work on and an essay due on the 13th that I haven't even started yet.

Really cheesed off as my Mam knew I wanted mine up first so I get to see the excitement on Charlottes face. I know it's trivial and I'm probably over-reacting, but it's something I've looked forward to for so long and she's going to spoil it again.

I wish I could afford to give up work and be a SAHM, then I could do what I want with my daughter and wouldn't have to put up with her messing with things.
