I'm off for a lie down.0 -
He's here!!
But bless him he's disrupting everything. I'm currently [STRIKE]standing over him[/STRIKE] watching while he puts all his stuff away, otherwise it would just sit in the bag for ages. Molly was a bit nonplussed by him and started whinging to get away from him quickly, I hope she hasn't forgotten him.
Anyway, all is wonderfully well and now the fairies made it back to the Post Office, where Sebastien (my favourite post office guy) was very nice and stuck all my Luftpost labels on for me, all that's left is a trip for milk, bread and butter.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Becles - I was a pain when it came to clothes! My Mum always tried to put me in dresses but I refused, Only thing I wore was yellow dungarees. I was nicknamed Yellow Feelie. Loved the ice skating picture yesterday! Are the billboards still up near you?
I had a yellow jumpsuit when I was about 10 and I loved it!
No - sadly the billboards have gone now, but we've got the mug and photograph on display.
Apparantly Charlotte was pumping loudly at my Mam's this morning and my Mam said "oh Charlotte, that's disgusting" and she piped up "yes, I'm not very lady like, Granny" :rotfl:Here I go again on my own....0 -

Matthew is going to be great at singing old macdonald had a farm when he is older. I have never heard a baby that can make such a range of barnyard noises. He can grunt like a pig, neigh like a horse, baa like a sheep and squeak like a mouse. I had imagined when pregnant a lovely baby who smelt like roses making little cooing noises now I have a stinky farting machine who is constantly noisy even whilst asleep. It's just as well that I love him lol.Coming soon............

Wow Feelie - what a post! You reminded me, apparently one of my mums brothers was a proper whingey baby (he's still a moaning old git now!). My nan would feed and dress him and put him outside on the step in his pram at 8 in the morning - then close the door and go inside. :rotfl: Someone knocked on the door one day to tell my Nan 'Do you know your baby is crying'. Nan said to her 'Yes I do, that's why the front door is shut!'. :rotfl:
Toys - When Violet went to visit nursery, there was a huge choice of expensive toys for the babies to play with. Most of the babies were at a big mat on the floor, playing with water bottles filled with various rattly things! So, Liv has made her a few at home - one filled with pasta, one with beads, one with water and glitter.
I got her a proper old metal spinning top today from Hawkins - she's fascinated by it! They also had the 1970's style fisher price pull along phone with googly eyes (am I the only one old enough to remember it?) - I almost bought it but I think its similar to something MIL has got her for christmas.
:j for Mr SS's return, MFD's bonus.
 for Caz's stupid CPN! My house looks quite organised today - but only because the ironing pile is hidden in the shed! :rotfl:
Hugs for Mel, Did your big boy miss you when he was away? And was there evidence that he'd used his toothbrush/soap? :rotfl:
And hugs for everyone with poorly and/or not sleeping babies/children.:beer:0 -

Wow Feelie! That was a mega post. Thanks very much for asking about how we got on. We really enjoyed it actually – it was mostly singing songs with actions and doing something with brightly coloured balls and making noise with bells. Holly was tired but managed to last the full hour. She is still a bit young so can’t hold things herself but she was mesmerised and enjoyed everyone else singing etc. A lot of it is stuff I would normally do with her in the house anyway, but it was nice for her to see other people and get more structured play.
For the record, as everyone else has said, I think you seem like a great mum to Toby and you would be crazy to give him up. You would miss him like mad and he would really miss you. You have bonded with him and you clearly adore each other even if he gives you a hard time sometimes. You probably think things are worse than they are. Even if you don’t want to venture out much, it’s not harming Toby. You seem very intelligent, articulate, friendly, thoughtful and caring to me. These are all good qualities that you can pass on to your son. He will love you no matter what and he would be very lucky to have as good a life if he was brought up with someone else.
Pookie – lovely pictures. He doesn’t look like he does smelly pumps the angel!
On the subject of car seats, Holly is mainly in hers in the car, however, if I need to carry her in to the doctors or something, I would carry the car seat in. It means I can put her down. Some people don’t know about the 3 hour advice, but even if a baby was in it for longer than that on the odd occasion, I don’t think it’s going to stop their growth. If they are in it continually then yes, they can’t wriggle and develop their movement, but I think some people are over critical of others when they don’t know the full circumstances. Holly has been in her car seat for 1 hour maximum as that’s the length of time it takes to drive to my in laws, and I have always used the pram body to go into shops (except 1 occasion in Comet as I didn’t see the point in waking her for a 10 minute stop), but I would not condemn anyone who had their child in the car seat for 5 hours as a one off occasion. It's my preference not to have her in it unnecessarily, but everyone makes different choices.
Weaning guidelines are 6 months now, but some people start a bit earlier.
Some people leave their babies to cry as they think it does no harm.
Some people don’t keep their babies in their room for recommended 6 months.
But it’s up to you as a parent to make a risk assessment and do what you feel is right. It seems pretty harsh to criticise people you don’t even know because you are making assumptions in shops to be honest.
Off my soapbox now.....:o0
