It is just so strange, he keeps shoving more in there, chewing it up, then spitting it out again and chewing something else! He will swallow some things, mainly home made rice pudding, carrot, apple and yogurt.

at least hes doing that feelie i think zoe was 8-9 months before she finally started eating properly and at that she was still fussing ... still is :rotfl:x
    :)Still searching .....:)
  • carla there was absolutley loads of voluvants left!! and have got loads of cheese n spring onion sandwiches left! il put sum piccies on tomo wen i can be bothered moving off the couch! x
  • Feely - I can see no reason why LO couldn't have an oatcake with cheese (obv no bacon) I would happily let Benjamin have one (but I haven't read the books so I don't know what 'they' say :D

Feely - does he still have tongue thrust? Sounds a bit like it. Try something really smooth. If he eats a few things stick to them for a while and introduce other things gradually.
MFD your speaking to a gaming person also some one who works in a game shop .. psp there are plenty of younger games .. ben 10 loco roco patapon depends what he likes i would go for what you can afford even if you go second hand say from cex (where i work) game or gamstation you still get a years warranty .. if it is just age your worried about .. dont worry theres plenty of younger aged games x

Ben 10 too young and don't know the others - I will go check some games out.
Psp - Make sure he knows what he'll be allowed to play before getting it, just incase he is hoping/thinking he'll be able to play things he won't.

Hmm - I know he doesn't want to play the older, older stuff...nephew was playing Call Of Duty and another kill the granny game  and DSS left the room because he doesn't like that kind of stuff.

Whatever happens, hubby needs to take a joined up approach with the practice wife on this one. Which could be difficult, she took him to a 12 film when he was 8 and she lets him watch Jonathan Ross

He has a DS and a Wii  as I said, I am not sure if it is just because he has been told to want something IYSWIM!!

Feely - i remember trying to wean Katie and sometimes i just wanted to chew it up and pop it in her mouth for her, it does take them a while, but try not to stress too much over it. they do it when they want to, not when mummy wants them to!! lol

MFD, it seems to be a very deliberate spitting things out. He used to have the tounge thrust (made giving calpol tricky!) but he can swallow things. He loves chewing, but once he has chewed something, he prefers to spit it out than swallow it. That said, most of the oatcake has gone down the hatch. He is an odd baby when it comes to feeding isn't he? He seemed to reach all the milestones ages ago, and can pick peas up and get them in his mouth, but swallowing is another matter! Wonder if it is related to the weak suck/poor latch? HV just said to keep giving him baby rice. I've tried him with stage 1, 2 and 3 things to see if we had more success, but not really. He can bite off and swallow big chunks of carrot (can't seem to digest them, they come out the same). He only eats maybe 2-3 teaspoons of food a day, if that. He can also get the spoon into the bowl, scoop up stuff and get it in his mouth. Strange boy!

Oh, he also has a habit of keeping things in his mouth. Am I supposed to fish the big chunks in his mouth out after a certain time? I first discovered this when I went to change him half and hour later and he choked! If it was tongue thrust, would he keep stuff in his mouth?
