Maz, my GP practice wrote to me today about the vaccine. My brother says once each practice has done all their phase 1 vaccinations, they are allowed to roll out phase 2 (pregnant women).

    HTH?

Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.

Csh – hello! :wave:Nice to see you here. Hope you pop on more often. I was wondering how you are doing. No advice re sling/baby carrier. I have been considering getting one myself, but don’t know where to start.

Emlou – that sounds like a nightmare. Definitely speak to CAB if you don’t get anywhere with landlady. Do dehumidifiers not cost much in electricity? I rented a flat once which had dampness round the window frames and were told to use a dehumidifier, but I didn’t bother because I felt they should have fixed it and I didn’t want to pay extra for electricity! When we were moving out, they fitted new UPVC windows anyway so next tenants got the benefit of that.

Krystal/MM – hope your DDs both feel better soon.

Holly and I had our 6 week post natal check up today. Does everyone have a red book with their baby’s measurements plotted on percentile charts? I don’t have this and I want one. Apparently Holly is on the 99th percentile for her length!! You can’t get much longer than that. She is normal for weight and head circumference though. But I don’t have the measurements written anywhere as the doctor just looked on his own chart. She is now 61cm long and is 7 weeks tomorrow. He was happy with her development and said she interacted with him as he would expect a 3 month old baby to do so. Clever girl!!! I am very pleased with her so will have to reward her later with lots of kisses and splashes in the bath. :T

Krystal you have lovely gorgeous thick hair though, mines is peely wally! I wash, blow dry and straighten then attack some clip in extentions to give my hair some bulk, and it would all dislodge before going out. Plus it's dinging off rain.

Note to self : Stop wearing flip flops. It started GUSHING off rain as soon as I got out, almost done myself a mischeif skating across soggy leaves.

The woman in Spar said to me "oh wow your so big now!" I was like !!!!!!, until I remembered her face, she was a playground auxillary at my primary school. I was hoping my face had changed since then, clearly not!

keira met her friend blakey on the bus, ad they were sittig cuddling ad pecking each other on the cheeks  I know kids nowadays are growing up quicker but she is 3, and in lurrrrrve already lol

    Afternoon all..

:hello: Feelie. So glad you're getting some help :D Hope you feel better soon after the swine flu :(

Wasn't our usual HV, but a very nice other one :) She's given me more leaflets and info booklets. Was very enthusiastic about me making my own..:o

While the HV was here, I got one delivery, then another just after she left, and we'd no sooner settled back down to play, when there was another knock at the door and it was my friend, calling in on the offchance we fancied a visitor. Was very nice to see her and she stayed here with Rhys while I nipped out to get the FreeCycle thing :D She's a musician and has just started a temporary job running music workshops for children 0-5 so she spent the whole 20mins singing songs and Rhys loved it apparently :D Obviously tired him out cos he's now snoring in his bouncer :)

Fitz, the hospital should have given you one before they discharged you... I'd ask your health visitor next time you see her... You need to have one the same way as you carry your pregnancy notes...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Hi! Nice to see you too, I come in and check up on you all from time to time but I struggle to find the time to post, esp as this thread moves so fast. Nice to see you and Holly are well. Kieren is a wee gem and I'm very much enjoying being his mummy!

Do you mean you don't have the red book, or you don't have the charts??
Your HV should have given you book on first home visit after baby born so chase her up.

The only thing I have is a "child's diary" in which I can write her immunisations and her weight if I get her weighed at the baby clinic, but nothing that I can check her measurements against? I asked the health visitor about her length and she said the doctor would check her length at 6 week check up which he did, but he never wrote it down for me or gave me a chart. I thought he would have.

Csh - do you have a different book? I just wondered if we get different things in Scotland as a lot of what I read probably only applies to England. Should I have a different book and should I have charts to plot her growth on?
