has anyone read any good books on raising children with healthy self-esteem?
I haven't (as I can't read) but it is a very interesting topic! One thing I've purposefully done since LO was born, is to praise him for the things I want him to value. Although I do say 'who is a beautiful boy' often enough so he knows I think he is gorgeous, I try really hard to tell him when he is being: helpful, kind, affectionate, focused, determined, hard-working, patient, loving etc - the qualities I want him to know are important. It was hard as a baby, but easier now that he actually demonstrates those qualities. Morning x
I'm so tired/angry so excuse me if I'm not very talkative. At least I have LO to cheer me up this morningMummy to D born 21/04/09 and S born 09/05/120 -
morning all,
sorry for coming on and having a moan but feeling totally pants today. We had to put our dog down yesterday and I'm at the stage where I don't know how much more I can take, in the last 6 months we've lost my FIL, I was at the doctors daily to be treated for my c-section infection for 17 weeks, DH has lost his job, and now the dogs gone as well.
I can't help but feel we've done nothing wrong so why are all these bad things happening to usThe only positive was the safe arrival of my DD but I genuinely don't think I can cope with much more.
As I said sorry for moaning I'm just feeling at a loss. You laugh because I'm different - I laugh because you're all the same0 -

I think it's so confusing and hard when bad things happen to good people. Makes the world seem really unfair. So sorry to hear things are bad. As you say, so good that evie's hear safely, but GAH! about everything else.
Hugs for you. x

Tink Hugs hunny - and what Weezl said.
I often wonder why !!!!!! happens to nice people.
But if you believe in bad things happening in threes - you've already had your fair share so 2010 will be a perfect/happy year.
