That's a great bargain Tara. Shame Keira already has a bed (that doesn't get slept in though!)

Hey, the polish woman's house I'm going too tomorrow, her daughter is a month younger than Keira, and she still sleeps in a cot? That seems a bit, erm odd doesn't it?
  • Sorry to the ladies who have mentioned me this morning and I didn't reply :o

I ended up asleep at 3.30ish and then had to go in to Daniel at 5.30 as he was whinging, he then when back to sleep till 7.30 when I had to wake again to tell DH to get up. I ended up going downstairs about 2hrs later, not sure if I slept much between these times? I blame my mother for my lack being able to sleep! She's been like this all her life and has passed it on to me  So now I have a blinding headache, which is slowly becoming a migrane due to lack of sleep. DH has gone back to bed coz "i'm soooooooooooooooooo tired" so I'm gonna go be a b1tch and wake him up.

While Daniel had a nap I watched that Amanda Holden midwife thing from Monday. I got quite welled up watching it. Then I looked at my baby sleeping peacefully beside me and I thought what a wonderful thing pregnancy and childbirth is as it brings you a precious little bundle of joy whom will love you unconditionally (well for a few years at least :rotfl:)

Lol! Great present Sami, does he curse and moan and use the excuse that the "tin open is shiote" so he doesn't have to open the can of tuna and drain it? My OH is super lazy.
Yeah he was complaining the other night about the tuna not being a ring pull and having to turn a handle lol

Ich mag dich - I like you
Ich habe dich liebe - I have love for you
Ich liebe dich - I love you

The middle one is when you more-than-like someone but don't want to tell them you love them or aren't sure you love them yet.
    ....

Still not sure what the plan is or whether we'll be in a hotel. I'm going to see if there's a local hotel that stays open over Christmas just in case.
I like that I have love for you thing (Weezlie you could have done with that a few years back, no? :))
The Thistle is open on the 27th honey, I'll be there at a wedding - maybe I could sneak you in for some free buffet ;)

sorry that you feel like that mel. can u try to reverse your mind to think that you went bac to uni to improve your childrens lives...therefore it might mean that things are a bit tight in the duration, but they will get better!?
Also, when they think back, they are not going to remember the coat that was a little bit tight, but the amazing christmas that they had when mum was finding things a bit difficult!?

    how you feeling SM!?
Know how you feel about birthdays being close to christmas and being poor...my mums is 29th. I havent a notion what I am getting her for Christmas never mind her birthday!!!!
Mel what Carla says is so true, I feel hideously guilty about the sacrifices my mum made for my sis n I growing up, I ruin her now :D

My Granddad's birthday is Christmas day :xmassmile every year we phone him to sing happy birthday before thanking him for our prezzies.. which reminds me  I haven't bough him a b-day card!!

Weezl - I love all the photo's but I think I like number 2 best followed by 1 then 3, what about putting all 3 in a mount or using your magic photoshop skills to make them a sort of collage :D

  • wondering if anyone can help cos my little brain can't work out what to do for the best:

My friend, her DH and 5 gorgeous little monsters rent a 3 bedroom house which has no central heating. They were aware of that when they started to rent the property (summer) but the property management company and landlord said heating would be installed asap. Well as you've already guessed it hasn't been done, the landlord has given funds to the property management company to do the work but the funds was then used to re-decorate another property (just happens to be their daughter..surprise surprise).

They have a downstairs bathroom which has more mould than I would expect in a lab! This is probably due to the cold/leaking flat roof (again which the landlord has provided funds to repair but same happened again....) They are getting by with using their tumble dryer to warm the living room and kitchen up but its still freezing! Also the properly next door is vacant so no warmth from there either - terraced houses. The landlord says he can't afford to do the work til next year as it'll cost 3.5k to do, because she worked part time for a while the family imcome is approx £250 over the £16k threshold for the warmfront scheme so can't use that. Her youngest child is 5 but has quite bad asthma (has nebuliser etc) which obviously isn't helped by the house.

Any ideas or suggestions which they could get something sorted? I thought about going to environmental health to look into alternative accommodation but shes worried landlord will just evict them, remove their things and get someone else in

Claire, if En.Health do tell landlord it's unfit, then no one can live there until it's done. So go to them, and docs, and health visitor and MP, make a noise and she shoud get housed ASAP. And eviction would be great as it pushes the council into doing something.
