Yep...I feel terrible because i is all essentially my fault, if I had never left work to go to uni everything would have been fine....the kids both need new coats and I can't afford them yet. ds2 was complaining his is hard to get on/off because it is too small...I know it is but there is nothing I can do about it yet. I like to get them decent wind/waterproof coats like berghaus because we walk the school and back everyday, so feel it is only fair, they have mainly cheap clothes but shoes and coats are the only things I refuse to get cheaply!!

sorry that you feel like that mel. can u try to reverse your mind to think that you went bac to uni to improve your childrens lives...therefore it might mean that things are a bit tight in the duration, but they will get better!?
Also, when they think back, they are not going to remember the coat that was a little bit tight, but the amazing christmas that they had when mum was finding things a bit difficult!?

i know that one with how broke i am ive still got zoes birthday on tuesday :( poo aint it x

    how you feeling SM!?
Know how you feel about birthdays being close to christmas and being poor...my mums is 29th. I havent a notion what I am getting her for Christmas never mind her birthday!!!!

    BM there's a questionnarie thingy here http://www.blood.co.uk/can-i-give-blood/donor-health-check/

I'm O Neg, dunno if that's rare but i need the anti-D stuff

edit- ooh looky, they don't have much of my type lol http://www.blood.co.uk/StockGraph/stocklevelstandard.aspx

It's very much desired as it is the universal blood group that can be given to anyone in an emergency.

I think the not donating for 9 months after having a baby rule is probably because giving birth almost always results in a fairly substantial blood loss, even at a completely 'normal' birth so the rule is there to protect the Mummy from becoming more run down (and you probably wouldn't meet their relatively strict Hb level test either).

    Morning all

It's the 16th, so I'm putting my Christmas trees up :j

I don't usually compare, but my brother is always going on about how much better off they are and I'm just crap at everything and they will compare. They ask advice on parenting and then tells me how crap I and they'd never do anything like that with their daughter which gets really on my wick, so I've stopped helping them. The stupid thing is, they slag me off yet I'm the one who had three children sleeping through the night from a few weeks old, yet they have a two year old who has rarely slept through the night since she was born. Mine eat pretty much everthing, theirs picks around with food and she barely eats. So I can't be that crap! He asked about how I'm doing at uni, and I said pretty well and could get a 2.1, and he said "you do know any degree from the Open Uni is pretty worthless so it's all been a waste of time really." I was so mad, I couldn't say anything, especially when he went to Uni full time, p*ssed around for 4 years and limped out with a 3rd. But it's from York, so apparantly that makes it superior to degrees from anywhere else

Sorry for ranting but I really don't like him :o

Oh no, it seems to be a bad week for brothers. Becles you are clearly a fab Mum, so tell brother and SIL to stuff it (in your head at least). What a horrible, vindictive thing to say about the degree- that is just spiteful and totally untrue.

oh yes! I definately get what you mean! When I went to see the GP he told me to go for a run after fergie's in bed. I nearly cried. Some evenings it feels like a marathon to get up the stairs!

    glad you're taking a step back :)

OMG, I would have cried if my Dr (or anyone) had said that to me about pg insomnia. BTW I love all three photos, but agree that 1 is particularly lovely and will make a wonderful gift.

SS- I am so sorry that your Mum has left on bad terms. I would probably come to England but stay in a hotel so you have your own space. Am I right in thinking that you have ordered (and paid for) all the festive food at your Mum's?

Beenie- you still around or have things started moving.

MOTM- I am immensely jealous of you having a partner who writes Christmas cards, although to be fair the state of my OH's handwriting people would probably think Henry had written them.

Tigs- a gorgeous pic of Andrew. He looks so content. And yay for MSE alterations of your breast pump. Very ingenius.

Omg I actually got an app, for Monday with the doctor I wanted *faints* she asked if I wanted one sooner with a different doctor as I sound "really ill" but no I don't.

I want more Xenical, and not to loose weight either(I dont think it does much!) but because it's one way I am guarenteed to get the toilet. Movicol isn't working again, laxatives don't work. My bowels are so duff!

I was hoping I'd weigh 73kg by the time I went back to her, so she could send the plastic surgeon letter off again but alas, the lowest I managed so far was 74.9kg, and I've gained another 2lbs since then.
