OMG Tigs that pic just made me cry, really brings it home how dinky he really was.....At the end of the day you say he isn't really 'doing much' but his whole little life has been focused so far on the basics of life, breathing and regulating his whole body functions....full-term babies don't have to learn any of that and can focus purely on the developmental stages. I think he is wonderful:)

Thanks Jillie, SS & Boo - yes, Andrew was originally due on 3 November so pretty close to your little monkey.

It's just that there aren't really any progress reports to give. He's not particularly cooing or making noises. He's learning that sucking on his hands is comforting, but struggles to hold his hands up to his mouth unless he's on his belly. I think he's beginning to find it frustrating being in the moses basket, as he can't see us out of the sides, but he doesn't really like being on his floor playmat or in his freecycled bouncy chair, and he can't have his new cushion or activity chair until he opens his Christmas presents! I think I'm just a little sad and frustrated that he doesn't seem to be progressing right now.

i was getting frustrated too. why isnt he holding his toy/like his bouncer/why did i buy that playmat eyc

tbh its only in the past 2 weeks that Kian hs decided the playmat can be fun and he loves now sitting in his bouncer. even playing with his toys has all happened in the past 2 weeks. before that it about 5 mins in the bouncer and no chance on the playmat. we changed Kian to his cot 2 weeks ago and he loves it. he does look small in it but there is so much more space for him to spead out. he started to play with his very noisy cot toy (wakes me up with him banging the cot bars with the plastic ring) and i believe its this has helped him a lot. cant wait for xmas so he can play with his new toys!!
he still hates being on his tummy but i am trying ech day to get him to stay longer on his tummy.

so all in all. babies progress at different rates. some do things early and some late. some of my friends children never crawled but bum shuffled everywhere.

but please do let us know any progress he makes! we're all proud mummies/daddies on here who love telling what our little ones are up to! i;m sure my mum/mil get fed up of me txting 'kians done this etc'....

Me too, that's why I posted it  I've been going through all the photos, choosing the best for a calendar. He's come so far, the photos help me to remember just how small he was and how fragile. I guess he deserves a rest, considering the progress he had to make in the first three months of his life. :)
