Eric - 4lbs is fantastic, and its sustainable. Loosing 10lbs a week or whatever looks cool but it just piles back on, and can be due to muscle loss - the most important muscle is your heart - the last thing you want is to stress it out by thinning out the walls! Look around you, as far as I can see you've done the best of anyone on here this week, so keep it up! A gastric band is not a guaranteed solution, and can lead to issues such as ulcers and associated post-surgery complications.
Thanks for the kind words, I was actually thinking of the stomach reduction / bypass thingy, people with those who are super super morbidly obese seam to drop 7-10lbs a week. I don't really want to go down that route as fatality rate for the opp is very high ....0 -

Hola
Well done to everyone who has reported in so far.
I'm pleased to say I've lost another 2lbs, but Superman had a little gain this week - 1.25lbs - not sure why as he's been doing the same as me, diet and exercise wise.
We've just returned from a 6 mile hill walk, and we're both really feeling it now! We're trying to resist rewarding ourselves with naughty treats even though we deserve it, that way we should have great results next week.
Good luck to everyone who has yet to weigh.
See you soon

It amazes me how handsome his son his Mike now he has lost 114lb he looks like a youthful happy teenager should look:D
I know what you mean. It amazes me what a change these people can make in such a short period of time. But then I'm sure if we had either Bob or Gillian training us for 6 hours a day, nutritionists and pysiotherapists etc we could do it too. If only I could win the lottery....:rotfl:0 -
vix- you musn't think like that about yourself, uni is about the life experience and will pay off eventually. you just have to keep going! i thnk BB and granny hit the nail on the head with this one! xx
im reporting a STS this week. not usrprising as has curry on monday, plenty of drink yesterday AND a WHOLE bag of peanutbutter m&ms my friend brought be back from NY (no wonder the US has a weight problem. the bag she brough back had "medium size" written on the bag and it was 400gms!!! for all you angels out there who dont know, our version of "big" bags (the ones you get from the cinema and stuff) are only about half that!!! mind you, iam the one who ate them all.........lol)
heads up everyone!! keep those losses coming!!
xxxxshift the bulge! - 54lb lost so far :j .....alot more to go......:eek:0 -
eric - 4.2 loss is an amazing achievement!! remember you want your weighloss to be slow and steady, if you lose too quickly your body goes into shock and its so easy to put back on. if you do it slowly, your body adjusts itself to the loss and its so its not so easy to gain, and if you do its usually just tempoary. quick fixes just do not work. keep going! xshift the bulge! - 54lb lost so far :j .....alot more to go......:eek:0

Totally seemed to have missed the Biggest Loset on TV :undecided anyway
0.5lb loss for me again. Managing to mostly cut out snacks and now need to cut out excuses for not exercising. Need some fresh air so am going to go for a quick walk to get some money that I owe and some fresh fruit (really fancy something juicy like pineapple) and I think it'll be soup for dinner for me as had quite a big lunch And am out for a curry tomorrow night so better try and be sensible beforehand. Of course being sensible whilst I'm out is a possibility too :rotfl::beer:0 -
