Thanks guys. It's my OH's grandad so quite removed for me, I'm here to support him as he's also lost his dad so tough for him. Fortunately we are going back, we leave on the 19th and then head to Tibet
I can't wait to be quite honest!

That's awesome FFM! You make it seem so easy!
Well done on sticking to your plan! :T I bet you're looking forward an increased allowance now?!
Welcome heatherberry and good luck with your weight loss. Do you have a target in mind?
Bails all the best to you and your family at this sad timeGlad you still have the next part of your trip to look forward to.
It's been a good week here with son off school, and fun stuff like snow hiking, skiing, snowboarding, snow shovelling, ice skating, springboard diving and even a little bit of kitchen tray sledding :rotfl: Even though I've done no running and cycling I've had more exercise than usual thanks to the weather!
Next monthly weigh in is on Tuesday, and then I'll know what needs to be done to sort out any festive damage! I have 'unofficially' weighed so I already know it's not too drastic, luckily!
Good luck everyone for the upcoming week!0 -
Hi Missy, sounds like you and LO have had a great time
I know I may make it sound easy, but believe me, until my 'head is in the right place' it's the hardest thing in the world.
That's where this thread helps me out so much - and the support from everyone just brilliant :T
I had a 70g portion of christmas pud and 45ml Elmlea single cream tonight for my extra allowance = 266 cals  but it did taste yummy

Hello to Sarahlou, debcow and shopaholic232 :hello:
Sarahlou - my advice is probably a bit 'biased' as I have 'done it' the Rosemary Conley way - but would also recommend plans like weightwatchers. The problem with Slimfast is that it is not 'real food' and at the end of the day when you have lost the weight you want to lose you will need to start eating 'properly' again. That's when you might end up putting it all back on again.
At least with diet plans like Rosemary Conley, WW etc you eat real food, but you learn which foods to avoid or only eat occasionally. These methods are more money saving in the long run too - it becomes a way of life and is also healthy for the whole family.
With RC you there is a kick start plan that lasts for 2 weeks and limits your calories to 1200, you can expect to lose approx 7lbs in that fortnight. You then increase your calories to 1500 and can expect to lose 1-2lb per week. You can have a glass of wine or a 'treat' each day so that you don't feel completely restricted.
To maximise your diet you should try to limit all foods to those that contain no more than 5% fat and should have breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner and pudding/treat. So, theoretically you don't go hungry. You must also exercise portion control, to keep the calories to the right level.
You can buy one of her magazines which will have the kickstart plan in it and lots of tips, menu ideas etc. You can usually buy old magazines on Ebay as well as her books. There are also local groups if you like that sort of support.
I've never done WW, but know there are some peeps on here that follow it successfully.
Good luck with whatever route you chose, it is doable
