Great work losers .. especially Honey and Fred. SOTW!!!

Is the coat rescued now Vixstar?

Hezza - I'd offer 50%. If she relies on this income and you don't offer she may very well be upset, and if she's good ....

How horrid to struggle through the snow for the dentist Beanie. Hope it went well.

Am working at home now (with little breaks for MSE :rotfl:) but tomorrow school will be open from 10.30 - 3.00, the idea being to let the further away staff get in by public transport if worried about driving and the walkers can go really slowly. I was there before 7 15 this a.m. to answer the phones and just in case any children turned up. We'd sent texts to parents and put a message on the web, but they still like to phone and check  and some even brought their chidlren just to look at the notice that said closed!

BB I've never understood the positions of the two hospitals in Brighton, not very handy if they had to transport patients between the 2 in the snow :D At least Queensway and Freshfield Road are normally well gritted, or they used to be anyhoo

I suppose it is historical mazza - the general was originially the workhouse, so the County, opened in 1828 was no connection to it and each has just evolved. Don't think the general became a hospital til WW1.
Also, I don't think there is much exchange as they have completely different departments?
The hill wasn't well gritted today just tried to take car to garage appointment in woodingdean: impossible as cars slipping on sheet ice.

Meat balls in passata, onion, mushrooms for tea. OH working outside in this weather so needs feeding up.

HoneyD - you are doing really well:T

Another downside of not going home is another missing weigh in from me - may have to either invest in a new set of scales or relocate mine from home to my work accomodation and change my weigh in day.

Dunno BB, maybe they use ambulances to transfer equipment between the 2 as well, I know living on Queensway we used to get a lot of ambulances up n down that street. More than your average street if you know what i mean.

Anyhoo, I did notice that more things grind to a halt in Brighton than they do up here. Still glad I'm a postie up here tho and not down there, not with all the hills :rotfl:

Thanks peeps for all the advice re the childminder. I've had a chat with her and she's happy to accept 50% for the days she hasn't worked, plus she has offered to make up the hours as an alternative, all very reasonable and civilised when I was expecting a difficult conversation, I'm so relieved so thanks one and all!! :D

DS's school is planning to open tomorrow but as more snow is forecast tonight it seems unlikely, we seem to live from one text message to the next. No news ref DDs school yet.
