Hi i'm new. My story is Jan 2004 joined WW and lost over a year 4 stone... Jan 2010 its all back !!

So I'm starting again. First WW meeting is tomorrow, which I'm dreading (scared of what the scales are gonna tell me lol) I can't believe I let it get to this again.

K I think my scales are borked.

    Monday 13st2
    Tuesday 12st 13
    Wednesday 13st

I have them sitting in the same place every day. The battery is fine (new scales). Just wondering if that part of the floating floor isn't level enough for them. Maybe I should walk them around the house until I find a spot where I'm lightest :rotfl:

I don't normally weight myself everyday btw, just wanted to confirm what I already thought. :o
    4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j

    STS today.

75.6 kg today same as a week ago. Oh well, not going back up again.

I re-started my personal fitness programme this week. Aqua-aerobics Mondays, adult beginners' swimming Tuesdays. Need to do some squats etc at home to strengthen the big muscles in my legs - these are also the muscles that use most calories because they're bigger. Making nice warm veg soup for lunch!

    Best wishes to all

  • Mazza - the fact that your weight is fluctuating every day is nothing to do with your scales or your floors, everyone's weight will vary from day to day which is why most diets recommed you only weigh yourself max weekly in the same day at the same time etc. The day to day changes are a reflection of metabolism, water retention, what you've been eating etc etc so I would say your results are perfectly normal :D Choose a day and time every week to weigh yourself and you'll a much fairer reflection of your progress!!

Well we had 6 inches of snow overnight and it's still coming down heavily. Both schools are closed (they've only been back for 2 days!), DD is already getting complaints from teachers that they are behind in the curriculum! At least the birds are enjoying the turkey fat I put out in the garden at the weekend, will put out some more seeds and water later today.

I got a breadmaker for crimbo - yay!! No more unhealthy shop bread with mega tons of salt & sugar in. One problem though, after several failed attempts I discovered that the recipes in the instruction manual give incorrect quantities for water & flour!! So I googled the correct recipes and have another "experiment" underway this morning. Looking good so far - I love the smell of fresh baked bread!!

Well you're a wiser woman than me fredsnail:rotfl::rotfl:. Read that para 3 times victory and still confused:rotfl:. Still it matters not a jot as fred does:D

The snow has finally arrived on the south coast, got a couple of inches and falling fast. What's that beanie?... "a couple of inches... call THATsnow Grrrr":D

a sts please fred. No surprise, astime of the month and general knackeredness means I haven't mastered the cutting back, but i have stopped the putting on

Welcome venus - you aren't the only one with that story: the plus is, you know you havedone it before, so you can do it again: & will.

Hezza - a breadmaker would be disasterous for me & weight loss. Way too yummy.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

    Morning all,

Here I am, newly 'pinked' for the zero'd start to the year.:j

We seemed to have had only a small snow shower overnight, so have missed the deluge lots of the country seem to be having. Hope those with lots are staying warm and safe. Glad the boys are all in school too, as I have only just managed to get the house straight again after the Christmas break.

Weighed in and have a -2lb loss this week, which is a good step in the right direction. It's TOTM too, although halfway thru', but it has meant I've been craving sweet things when I usually wouldn't. I'm managing with a slice of fruit bread when I feel the need, which is only 80 cals.

Hezza - I have a Panasonic breadmaker, and the children prefer homemade bread to shop bought now. My foolproof, quick recipe mix is: 1tsp yeast, 400g flour, 1tsp salt, 1tsp sugar, 1tbsp oil, 320ml water. Bake for 4 hrs. I find the larger mix loaf gets too tall, and is harder to cut, whereas this makes a good, more normal sized loaf. I can thoroughly recommend making a batch of dough, then doing your own rolls (prove them 1st). Even the children know the routine to make them now. It doesn't stay fresh in the breadbin for as long as shop bought bread, but you tend to find it gets eaten fast anyway. Nothing nicer than coming downstairs in the morning to the smell of freshly baked bread (which you can by setting the timer). I have a routine where I put a mix on to bake overnight for fresh bread the next day.

    - my weight fluctuates like that, if I weigh myself every day. Stick to 1 day a week, same time, same place. Mine is 1st thing in the morning, naked , scales always in the same spot on the bathroom floor (which is not carpet). If you have a carpeted floor, try placing the scales on a piece of wood, or a floor tile, which is what I did in a previous house I lived in.

I am off to do the ironing now. Trying to keep my hands busy to stay on teh straight and narrow. Making use of the mass of diet, lose weight features on TV to give me the incentive I need.
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home

    -1lb please Fred

Well my school is open - but only about 40% of the children have come as the junior school on the same site has closed. We're asking parents to collect straight after lunch though as the snow is falling thick and fast .... One of the parents said thank you for being open. I nearly fell over with shock. :rotfl:

It is very simple when it is in my head:rotfl:ages ago I asked to be take off the chart and couldn't cope it felt like the 7 stone lost was gone from the chart and the mind of how hard it was to loose, I needed it back as a crutch I guess so now with all this pinking have asked can I go back to zero but on the side put down that I have 10lb to loose and lovely fred is doing that for me, so on one side it will say 0 and on the other it will say 10lb to loose:D

and I haven't got that much to loose because I cheated and went on the scales I know I said I wasn't I know it has only been 3 day but happy as a sun beam to report a 1.5lb loss please this week:D:D:D every little helps:D I got my son to re check it and it is right:D

My kids are beside themselves with annoyance as their schools are still open and most are closed:rotfl:

    sary :j:j:j:j:j

    when is the next interview?

I couldn't have a breadmaker, the bread is kept very much away from me and only have on special occasions, I even buy the kids cheap supermarket brand bread because they like it but I think it is doughie and yucky and would not eat it if someone paid me:D

Did you see on the channel 4 show last night with the BOGOF how easy it is to over buy even if you did not go in for that it comes across as tempting and all of a sudden you need it, well I went to Sainsburys and did just that BOGOF on hot cross buns,(I don't eat them, like them) the eldest turned his nose up and said he did not like them, the youngest ate 2 or 3 there was 12 and when I went back into the kitchen later there was only 2 left so I asked eldest where they had all gone seen as he did not like them that much, his answer..'.well they are there so I might as well eat them':D if there was an answer not to BOGOF there it is:D I fall for it all the time and am vowing to myself not to, we did buy so much chocs etc on BOGOF and seemed like a good deal but like the presenter said do you want to save pounds or put pounds on? Everyone knows if it is in the kitchen cupboards or you know it is in the house you will want to eat it, so no more buying anything that is sugar related or fatty or high in cals, if it is not a cucumber it can't come in:rotfl:

gs excellent all in the right direction
