Just a quick pop in - will read it all more carefully later.

Lobbing it down here too. The reason DD's friends couldn't sleep over last night was because the one whose mum was doing the ferrying had to leave at 6.30am for a hockey tournament, so I am feeling very sorry for her playing in this! At least DD's music is indoors!

Today I need to whizz round and tidy and swish and swipe so the house is respectable for going back to work. I then have a 6 week decline into CHAOS again before the next holiday! I need to prepare stuff for work tomorrow (done some of it already, actually) and make tortillas for dinner tonight.

See ya later - off to whizz!
  • Hope you can settle where you are now - Home is where the heart is - it doesn't matter if is a 6 bedroomed state of the art super-swish pad or a tiny 2 bedroomed terraced cottage as long as its a safe haven where you can retire to at the end of the day.

The internet and telephone bring family and friends closer than ever before and being absent from your family really makes you appreciate them more than ever before and you treasure your time together and make the most of it.

Don't feel guilty - everyone needs a wallow now and again - we're only human. You need time to mull things over, make plans and motivate yourself to begin your next phase in lifes journey.

Living well is to experience the journey through life step-by-step (even if you slip or step in cr*p occasionally)...its not a race to the finish

  • Sorry it took so long. :o It's the first hat I've made that wasn't for a child so I wanted it to be right. ;)

I'm so pleased it cheered you up and that your down spell has cleared.

    Take care. xxx

I've declared 1st November a fresh start for me - a bit like the usual new year stuff. Finished my job on Friday (redundancy if I've not bored you already with the word on other threads) and lots of job applications to do, as well as a few years' worth of decluttering; 6 months of binge-eating to undo, grubby carpets to be deep-cleaned and so on. Also back on the Grocery Challenge wagon - £200 for the month, so my boys are going to have a shock!

Went to bed last night full of good intentions - and woke up feeling really icky. It's very wet and windy here (sounds as though that's the same for all the MSE community, nationwide) so I'm hoping the ickiness and rain have both passed by 'whoopsie time' at the supermarket this afternoon. Meanwhile, I'm going to clear a space at the table and see if my DSx2 can be persuaded to do something arty-crafty. Wish me luck!

  • Morning all

I had a brilliant time at my friends Halloween party, got home bout 2.30am! Didn't meet a zombie or vampire, but did meet a nice ghostbuster...;)

Rather hungover today so won't be doing much. Reading on the sofa and watching grand prix is about all I can manage! Need to tidy as I made a lot of mess deciding on my outfit last night.

    Have a good sunday

    Morning folks!

Just catching up with the OS threads.

Taking Mum out for lunch today as it's her 81st birthday. She still thinks she's 40, bless her! Hope I'm still as active at her age. Proper family "do" including DGD1 (17 mths) who will no doubt be centre of attention and entertain the whole restaurant! ;)

Going to make some soup sometime today from various veg that's hanging around. Would also like to find time to make some Twinks. Not had any for ages.

HG potatoes now gone so thinking of buying a sack. Any suggestions on variety? Read yesterday that Maris Piper is a good all rounder.

Hugs to everyone especially Cranky and George. Nice to see you posting Smokey.

Morning all, just a quick hello, I haven't been on the daily for ages.
DH, DS and BIL are camping in the woods, sleeping in hammocks:eek:. Apparently they didn't get much sleep last night:rolleyes:. DD went to a Halloween/birthday party last night and hasn't returned yet, so it's pretty quiet in the house - apart from the wind and lashing rain. I've let the chickens out, done a pile of ironing and now a bit of surfing.

Only two halloweeners last night - Is that the power of the X Factor?

Tea tonight is chicken pieces done in a Bacofoil bag which apparently will make them taste like barbecue food - we'll see. DS is back at school tomorrow, DD on Tuesday. I start my OU course on Nov 5th and start work on 11th Nov, so a busy time coming up with not much oldstyling going on I imagine.

    Enjoy your day,

    Hi again

I've just come back from Aldi and spent the grand total of £26.85 (I would normally spend £50 + in Sainsburys) I only needed the basics, bread, milk, fruit and veg and odd bits that were running low and there is definately less temptation to spend. I think I'm probably better doing an on line shop every few weeks (when I get a voucher for delivery) so that I don't add what I don't need.

    Off to make lunch

Just a little update as I'm feeling rather pleased with myself. I've now got the ironing done and put away, made 9 little pasties to go in the freezer, and made lunch. I'm now having a bit of a sit down and watching the F1. I do feel like I've got a lot done so far. Here's hoping I can do a bit more yet!

Now I need to find a use for 2 jacket potatoes baked last night but not eaten. Hmm. I shall have a look around on the site and see what I can find. I definitely want to use them as I hate throwing stuff away. Oh, that reminds me. My DH surprised me a lot this morning. I had cooked a jug of beans and left them in the microwave. When DH found them this morning, he told me we were having beans on toast to use them up! He's wonderful :) Now, I fancy a cup of tea. I wonder if he'd oblige me ;)

Right, I'm going to go and try to do a bit more sewing.

    Kitchenbunny xx
