Hi evevryone
Well I must admit that I haven't been very frugal over the last couple of months and it is now time to take control
So I need to
1 Cut back on my shopping (Use Lidl, Aldi, market etc rather than just going to Sainsburys)
2 Start menu plaanning
3 Cook from scratch
4 Start putting a little something away every day
5 Get Xmas sorted so that I can take the pressies when we visit for other things (we live in the South East and most rellies are in the North West) to save on postage.
6 Take any overtime offered (you don't know how long its going to last for)
OH is now disscharged (but still has 2 years of payments to the OR and I am still BR but I really do need to look to the future.) For my shame I have had a little wallow feeling sorry for my self and feeling that I will never have another little house of my own and live near family and old friends ( we moved to where the work is) But now I need to look to the future so even if we are only saving a little a week it will grow eventually.
Anyway I had better get on
Have a lovely day everyone

Morning all!
MSD my dd kissed the screen when I told her the kitty was for her!
Thrifty that chicken looks delicious.
I need to tidy and clean the whole house in the 3 hours that dd is at grandmas as I have avoided doing it whilst shes been on hols and I have a visitor coming at some point in the next couple of days so I need to get it sorted.
We are off to mums for tea and, if it stops raining a walk first.
Well I've found a way to get dd to sleep through the night-take her trick or treating! Her and her little friend did really well and looked so cute. Though a couple of people frightened dd and then looked really embarassed when she ran away from them crying and by the time we were finishing some bigger kids were out and she was scared of them. But on the whole it was good.
Right need to get us both washed and dressed and deliver her so I can get on.
Have a good day everyone.July grocery- 24.40/220. NSD-1/3.

Morning Chums, well got all my ironing done yesterday and this morning I shall be baking some cakes. My eldest DD will be round for coffee and cake about 11ish so I'd better get a wriggle on.Weather outside is very dark and grey looking and just starting to rain.Looks quite nasty as the trees are blowing a gale as well.Still I don't have to go out until around 4.p.m. so it may brighten up a bit before then. I bought some really big bramleys on Friday at Sainsbobs (5 for a quid) so I think I shall also make an apple pie as well.
Hope everyone has a peaceful Sunday.Take care all

Good morning,
I ended up making fairy cakes and some orange icing yesterday, and we let the children decorate them with writing icing. We did go trick or treating, with my one and my neighbour's two children, but we only went to 5 pre-arranged venues, then we went back to my neighbours house. The children played in their costumes, and the adults had a few glasses of wine.
George fell asleep at 7:15pm on their sofa, so I carried him home and put him to bed. He's been up since 4:20am this morning. Anyone want a 4 year old? No, I thought not.
I'm leaving to pick my sister up from the airport in half an hour. She'll want a chinese takeaway tonight as any kind of takeaway is rare where she lives (out in the countryside west of Cork). She's staying until Wednesday, which will be nice. Our dad is over in Ireland minding her children so that she can come here. The children hate it as my dad is a tidy freak and is very strict, hee hee. They deserve a few days of him to make them appreciate their mum!
Take care all of you.0 -
Morning all
Just grabbing 10 minutes with the laptop and coffee as i can hear 4yo dgs stirring. Lots of trick and treaters last night and with only dgs dressed up this year we are not in profit for once - the last came at about 10pm - a girl of about 14 with her mum - had to raid dgs's stash for her! dgs was also most upset that I wouldn't let Brian (the cat) ocme out with him - he was wearing one of his many pirate outfits and thought she would do as a parrot!
OS going very well at the moment - after some little upheavals over the last few months it's been hard staying on track. Made a lush pumpkin and lentil soup last night and froze half as well as a meat loaf which is all sliced and frozen for emergencies.
dbro and sil came round on thursday to fit a cat flap (him) and have a chinwag(her). she brought round some wool for me to make some mittens and bootees for their 6-weeks-to-go baby to match a sweater that her friend made. It's a variagated sock yarn though and I've had the devil's own job trying to match the patterns on each one
Going up to the British Museum in a bit for Mexican Day of the Dead celebrations. OH bringing his dd and Im bringing mine, dgs ..... and Mr Caring Sharing!!! He missed out on Daddy Weekend last week as he has a really bad back at the moment and is keen to see the kids - wish me luck. He is under strictest orders not to shame me up
still no heat or hot water but I needn't worry about washing my hair today as it's precipitating down at the moment
have good days all
