Hope you don't have a wasted trip.

These guys are one of the dealers that told me I should bite
the hands off from the dealer offering it at £10k.
  • And yet they sold one for 2k less last week.

Well as I say, I dont mind going down the dealership, even if it only ends up with me having a good look around the car!

If thats true, and they sold a Zetec for 8k last week brand new, then I will be aiming for 11k.

Just got back from Allen Ford in Nuneaton.

Quoted me £13716 for Titanium 5dr, panther black metallic paint with bluetooth and 1.4 diesel engine. Payments would be £215pm for 36 months

Said I shall think about it. Phoned up Bristol street to say they have beaten them by £100, who in turn phoned me back with the same car for £13616 and diamond bright paint protection thrown in free. Payments would be £212 for 36 months.

Went back into Allen Ford who are now saying they can beat it, but wont tell me unless I place an order as they dont want to get into a haggling match with Bristol street, so I have left it.

What do you guys reckon to the Bristol Street deal?

Not that brilliant really. Are you getting the USB and bluetooth in with that too?

    I have a similar car.
Fiesta Titanium 1.6 TDCi, 5dr, Solid Red, Bluetooth, USB, Parking Sensors front+rear, Electronic Stability Control. That was £14,400 although it was a year ago now.

Personally I wouldn't entertain the 1.4 diesel engine, it is quite underpowered for the size of the car. I would describe the 1.6 diesel I have as adequate, nothing more.

Thats alot of cash for a family car.

You can pick up a Renault Clio 197 (the 2.0ltr 197bhp version) for just over £11,000 6 months old.

Obviously not a 5-door family car, but certainly something that will make you smile.

Were in the market for a new car, tax free to export.

    Fords are expensive..

    Yeh it has bluetooth aswell.

I really want to the diesel though as I am doing more miles than what I was before, and the difference with the petrol engines and diesel engines is about 20mpg, along with the £35 a year road tax.

Dont forget that this is metallic paint aswell, and yours is a free colour isnt it.

Its not bad, but could be a bit better. Its not quite the saving 'Chippy Minton' may have led you to think you might get eh?

I spoke to Allen Ford about the supposed 8k Zetec deal, and they laughed at me. Their words were something like "someones telling porkies". I agreed.

I would call Bristol Sts bluff, say Allen have cut another £xx off the price, and go from there. I would also say to Bristol St that you do not want to keep phoning back, so get them to give the final price. This is what I did and it worked.

I have been doing quite a bit of reading, and agree with the above about the diesel, especially the 1.4. Might be worth rethinking that one.
