Hi all, just got back from the Ford dealer. The best they could do on a Titanium Fiesta 5 door with metallic paint was £13995 and £4000 px for my old one, which is rubbish!
Was not impressed, but the guy who dealt with me was a newbie and assured me that the guy who done my deal last year will ring me as he had more power to lower the price of the car and higher the px value of my car now.
Im off to Seat now to have a look at the Ibiza!0 -
That's a Titanium remember. Doesn't sound like a bad price but a lot depends on how much you can trade your existing car in for. Most of the time dealers will quote you list price for the car but effectively offer you a discount via the trade in value for your part-ex.
(It's in the dealers interests to do this as purchasing your car for a higher price lessens their VAT libability)0 -
Yeh, they will be phoning me on Thursday or Friday to discuss it further. What I am liking though is the new Ibiza's! The prices are good aswell for the spec!!!0

Yeah I do like the new ones. I especially like VW diesel engines too, better than the Ford ones.
Just don't forget to compare like for like, the Titanium has lots of goodies such as Cruise Control which are likely to be paid options on the Ibiza.0 -
Never ever go on the "its £20 a month cheaper" argument.
Dealers love people like this. Its all about value for money and cost to change.0 -

Fair point, but still a consideration. I think its mainly down to the better APR - 3.9% on the Mazda v 7.9% on Ford.
Its all go today though, now have another Ford dealer beating the best deal on the Fiesta! So, back to the other one now.
Shame I have to go to work in a few mins, everything will slow down again then until tomorrow.0 -
What dealer you going to? I told my local Bristol street about the deal you were getting, and he raised his eyebrows!
Hopefully it was because he was a newbie, and when the guy who sold me my current car phones it will be a different story.
I think Ford are way overpricing their cars to be honest. I think £4000 for my 18 month old Fiesta Style with metallic paint is a joke too. I would of atleast expected £5000. I said I can bring a 15 year old piece of junk into the showroom and you would give me £2000!!!0 -
This is all with Evans Halshaw - actually haggling between two different Evans Halshaw dealers for the exact same car!
Well, put myself out the misery and ordered this morning. Got the car a tad further discounted, and they included 12 months tax, rather than the 6 months they had originally quoted on. Its on its way, and should be here within a couple of weeks.
Happy with the deal. Although I have a message on my answer phone from yet another dealer saying they have a good offer for me. I dare not ring though just in case its better than I have got!0 -
Well rang the other dealer and they offered the same deal but a 1.4! Shame, too late now and happy with 1.25.. Would have been an even better deal though.0
-
1.25 is a weedy and very poor engine. I wouldn't say the 1.4 is powerful either, merely adequate..0
