Is the general feeling that if you equal or better deals than prices from those brokers, then it's good? That was my feeling.

Plus I get a very good part ex on my 08 plate. On paper that car has only cost me about £1000 over 18 months.

He was offered a zetec and collects it next week, we're talking close to the 8 grand mark.

Hmmmm smells a bit fishy to me.....

OP, that price seems very good if it beats the online brokers.

If you can beat a brokers price then you are doing really well. Brokers are able offer great deals because they can buy in bulk. Even then a lot of brokers offer pre reg cars so if you are getting a brand new car from a main dealer for cheaper then take it.

You would need to tell us the entire deal to decide if its good. Include any finance and trade in details.

I would say though I think Ford are very overpricing their new Ka and Fiesta and if you want value for money look to another marque as before long they will flood the market with 6/7k style entry level models probably once scrappage is over.

Now the list price on the basic entry zetec is £12395 so your 2k under that. The car websites suggest the target price should be circa 11k

Having looked about the internet this seems a very good deal so either it is or the dealer is trying to punt off an ex demo or something similar

I'll find out the dealer and get back to you.

What area are you in and how far will you travel for the car?

Further to my last thread. One note of concern.

"it costs £180 a month" A dealers favourite to hide the true cost of the finance. Could you confirm your figures and rates. I suspect they may be high thus the extra discount is made up on finance commission

Best I have seen is Motorpoint who are offering Pre Reg 09 plates and highish mileage 58/09 plates (Hire) at £10300 with metallic.

There seems to be a lot of pre registered and ex hire cars around

This is most definately a brand new car. I feel I am pretty 'well handled' when it comes to fishing for a deal, as I tend to change mine and my wifes car every 18 months or so. I enjoy the chase!

    Heres the full run down....

1.25 Zetec Fiesta. Non-metallic. With Bluetooth as the only extra (will get mats too).
    Car price - £10,100
Trade in for mine - £6,450
    Outstanding finance - £5450
    Amount to pay - £9,100

APR - 7.9% (not great, but thats Fords pricing on 3 year PCP)
Deposit - just the equity from my current car finance
    Monthly payment - £178
Ballon payment - dont have it to hand, but around £4
Based on 3 years, 12k miles

My plan will be to trade this in after 18 - 24 months.

So thats it. This will be for a brand new car as I say. I have been very flexible on the colour and very open about what I want. I was offered this deal, and walked away on Saturday in hope they may better it. The four other Ford dealers cannot get anywhere near. I am going to call this dealer tomorrow to try and get them down another couple of hundred quid somewhere in the deal and then its decision time.

I totally agree the Fiestas are overpriced. Having said that for similar equipment levels on other cars, they seem pretty hard to beat. It feels much more like an old model Focus than an old model Fiesta to me.

I would travel Lands End to Jonh O Groats for a £2k saving!

This seems a good deal, and it is possible. I read somewhere that a guy managed to get a brand new Fiesta Titanium for £11k when shopping around!!!

I would want it with the diesel engine in though, I wonder how much they would do me a Titanium with Diesel engine in??

I will be in the market for a new car in roughly 4 or 5 months time, when my finance is finished on my current 2008 Fiesta Style. I have £800 or so still to pay on my current car, and I will own it outright.

Can I ask what car you have traded in for the £6495, and also what model? I am assuming you have p/x an old fiesta?

If I was offered this price tomorrow, aswell as the £6495 for my current car, I would shake the mans hand. I would only be paying £3600 as I could clear the current finance off now with the cash I have saved in the bank!

Your getting me tempted to go and haggle for a new car!

Mine is a 08 zetec blue. Very nice car with a few toys. Could get maybe £7k privately but for £500 it's not worth the hassle I don't think.
