  • How do you know how well or otherwise he treats his tenants?

What concern is it of yours?

What does it have to do with the state of the BTL market in 2010 ?

Please come back when you have a cogent point to make.

Possibly Chucky can answer his own questions.

I was a tenant once for a very short time. It left me with a very dirty taste in my mouth.

How we treat the people we have power over defines us as people. I suppose I was trying to define you......

PPS Not totally sure about the Mewbie thing but it isnt anybodys mother and I will put money on that.

i've never thought as having power of the tenant, it's never really occured to me. i've always seen it as an arrangement that fits both our lives. there is a degree of trust and responsibility there, on both our parts. i have no time for tenants who try it on, i don't want people complicating my life :)

as for Stiflers mum she was one crazy woman!!

You own their home, whether you thought about it or not, you got the power darling.

I quite like crazy women. Weird men however creep me out.

i'd never thought of it as power - i'd thought of it as an arrangement that suited the both of us. they have their responsibility and i have mine.

weak men freak me out. crazy women are to be kept at a distance...

    .

Mainly agree w this (I'm a tenant) - theoretically it would be more upheaval for me to find a new place than for the landlord to find a new tenant (because of belongings) but thats the only thing I can think of that would give him more 'power' than me. I never really think about it tbh (Ive never met him!)

Of course landlords have the upper hand, at the very least they decide whether you have a roof over your head six months hence.

Tenants can withold their rent for a few months or move out at an inconvenient moment but the landlord still climbs into his own bed at night.

It is not an equal relationship and it is frequently abused.

  • Well he only decides if I have this particular roof?

    (but I guess...collectively...they decide if I have a roof!)
