  • Bought a Panny SD 257 from Argos today :) One loaf already made and half already gone. ;)
It's £119 in Argos but i had £60 in voucher's from trading in a few Xbox game's.!! lol
Going to send away for the free recipe book that you can get if you download a form and send your receipt away. Hope it's a good harvest this year.
  • Oh dear SOBA, my girlfriend had her 3 year old Panny dance onto the floor through the night earlier in the year so I'm looking for another one now as well. Are we the only two to have this problem?

I am thinking about getting a bread maker as the price of an ok tasting loaf from the shops is getting silly. I need one that would bake a big enough loaf for a family of five, that also might do cakes too, and simple enough for my husband to use :D! Any suggestions would be welcome, thanks.

Panasonic. They invented them and in Which reports have consistently been best buys over many years.

This forum again and again recommends Panasonic - not sure what the price is like in other stores but there's one in Lakeland http://www.lakeland.co.uk/15352/Panasonic-Bread-Maker?src=gpelc

Who I would recommend buying from, if you're ever unhappy they will refund you - they have the best guarantee in the world! It appears to be the same as this one on Amazon, you might find the reviews useful http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-SD-2501WXC-Automatic-Breadmaker-Dispenser/dp/B004RTJWMW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1311638748&sr=1-1

    I've got a second-hand Kenwood BM300,which works a dream.

I made over a hundred loafs with it,with only a few disasters (human error....).

I think that the BM300 is discontinued now,but if I had to replace it,I would look at the Kenwood range (price permitting).

    HTH.

Hi, we have a thread which will help confuse you even further... :)

    Which Breadmaker?

By and large, over the years the two breadmakers most recommended by users have been the Panasonic and the Morphy Richards. Both of which have huge info/tips/recipes threads of their own.

I'll add this thread onto the linked one later to help keep things all in one place.

Panasonic - we have two, our neigbour bought one as well on our recommendation, all three turn out lovely bread time after time.
Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures
  • Can someone recommend a good breadmaker please. There's just the two of us old fogeys, but we do like good bread that doesn't...erm..bloat!
So your suggestions would be welcome. I know I could make it without one but don't always have the time and I'm hoping OH will make some as well.
    Normal people worry me.
