OFFS you people need to get over yourselves.

What are the youths of today allowed to do these days? Its a problem when they wear hoodies, its a problem when they drink heavily, and now when all they're doing is sitting around in their cars in a car park then now thats a !!!!!!! problem too??????

By all means if they drive like tw4ts on public roads throw the book at them, but sitting in a car park???

Most of these people take too much pride in their cars to risk damaging it by driving like a moron - yes there are a small minority of fools among them - but then thats the same in every age group?

Stay calm or you'll have a stroke!! :)

Next time you see a boy racer driving along, take note of all the modifications you can see...then double it for the ones you can't.

And if you're in a bump with one then hope and pray all the mods have been declared to the insurance.

  • this particular asda have implemented anpr Automated Number Plate Reader and a big screen at the front of the store displays a photo of you and your car and number plate and if your on the system as being banned from the car park your named and shamed to the whole store and shoppers!! sounds against the law to me at very least data protection and human rights. but also you get a fine through the post too if you dont stay away from the car park when told trial'd in certain areas of the contry and thought to be successfull but saying that how many people borrow or are insured on a car fines will be disputeable in court i think.seems to me asda has put enough in place to thwart car enthusiasts and shoppers too with the massive speed bumps that damages suspension tracking tyres and adds wear and tear to a vehicle and its pushed taxi prices up in the area to accomodate this extra cost. so those residents are happy that the borough have to pay more to shop at asda.

ASDA can't fine anyone, they are private company, not a court of law.

It won't make any difference to the innocent parties claim, they will just not pay out for BR, surely?

my point is - the 'boy racers' pay car tax and insurance like the rest of us - doesnt that entitle them to drive where they want? if private car parks dont want them - fair enough - but surely they are entitled to drive on the public highways?

Many insurance companies have made their insurance policies void in the areas of "boy racer meetings".

If your son is involved in an accident with one I'm sure your opinion will change.

OP, is it worth your son going down to the poice station and explaining why he needs access to the town during the restricted hours. Ask them to put his car reg as an allowed car and if they refuse get your MP or councillors involved. It's ridiculous he can't pick up his OH from work

For all the talk against 'boy racers' the biggest problem in our local town is people - usually middle aged mums stopping in the middle of the road to ponder where they're going next, not indicating their intentions, double parking, talking on mobiles while driving and generally just suiting themselves to the detriment of every other road user around them.

    As if!!!!!!

In my local town the biggest problem seems to be middle age men in flash BMW's or Audi's, does this mean we should ban them all from driving?!

Of course not, we should never tar everybody with the same brush, there are some shocking teenage boy drivers around, but i've seen my fair share of shocking middle age drivers too, who are old enough to know better!

The local Tesco where my Mum & Dad live used to close gates in the car park so that only 1/4 of it was open at nights. Those parked in the 3/4 section to be closed were told they had 5 minutes to move or they wouldn't be able to exit until 6am.

This action by Tescos meant that the 1/4 car park was nearly always 80% full and put boy racers off as shoppers parked next to and in between them.

And as for the fronting/non-declaration of modifications, that's the problem for the boy racer, not you, as their insurer will still have to pay out for third party claims. They will be the ones who have their cover cancelled.

ive never been involved in any of the "cruises" ive never really had the need. but i dont see the problem with them.

theres a local club called www.strathycruise.com near me, (well worth a look for a good laugh, especially under the "babes/models" tabs, some right local tramps)

they used to hang around in the local country park,in the summer you couldnt move for them,it was a pain to other folk using the park,so i think its moved to a local retail park car park at night time, so no real problems as there isnt any housing near by so they do need to worry about noise. the police do patrol the car park and have constant speed traps around the area to catch them speeding to and from the cruise.
