Nice way to tar a whole group with one brush.
As a modifed car driver, would you care to back up that statement?0 -
sounds to me like Asda need take some measures to prevent their car park being used as such , not only for their customers but the community they are a part of . i would be writing to letters to get Asda to take action , it's not like they cannot afford it .
if it is 24 hours , then speed bumps would soon put a stop to things .
our local 24 hour Tesco, shut the open areas of their car park after 8 pm to prevent this ( parking is still easy but in a space outside the store that cannot be abused ), and Lidl next door (where they went next) , has installed barriers for when the store closes .
your right about just moving the problem on though. the guys round us now go to a isolated industrial estate where they don't hassled , because they don't get complaints .Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
can i just add which i normally wouldn't but this subject is close to my heart.
I used to hang around with so called boy racers when i was younger. All we wanted was somewhere to go and chat and see each others cars ask what you were going to do with them and make friends. It was one of the best times of my life then. I made so many good friends and i never needed a tow.
The point is I was a girl. With just a citroen ax with a few bits and bobs on it i was proud of. i never drove quick and neither did my personal friends, we very often used the car parks as a start point to go onto other places by the coast for example.
Ive never appreciated being labled with the percentage of idiots that broke the law. I got trapped by the police on a car park when they decided they were going to seal off the exit. as a 17 girl I was petrified I had nothing to fear as i had all my documents but it didn't stop me from wondering what on earth was going to happen. They just need a place to meet.Converted comper to MSE. Thank you for all your answers!0 -
i think what op is saying is that the police has refused entry into the town to her son who has a legitimate reason to gain access but the police like most are on a power trip refuseing access, he can only gain access in a marked company vehicle in wich his partner should not be a passenger even though boss or manager or supervisor says so because of leasing companies/insurers will not cover injury at fault or not at fault by the driver and the company is not liable for damage or loss, and also if reported to main head office if there is one OP's son could be in for a formal warning. if i was op's son i would try again in the focus and if refused OP's son can demand to speak with the officer incharge of the blockade and explain to him that he has a right to access.
i am well aware of the problems in blackwood town and why the lock down on thursday nights have occured BUT if you buy a car your licenced youve taxed it mot'd it and maintain it you have a god given right to travel where-ever when-ever you like if you drove down a street in your, partner family ,friends car and was met by a copper telling you sorry but you cant pass youd ask why and when he says because residents have complained about speed in the nights so the road is closed at certain times youD say REDICULOUS IS THIS WHAT WE PAY ROAD TAX AND COUNCIL TAX FOR!!!! and also whos paying for the police to monitor the blockades US the tax payer. for those who lives near a town centre like blackwood you will allways get loud exhausts loud music screaching wheels its part of life living in a town why should blackwood be treated differently to any other town in the world? everyone has different tasts in cars and when you buy your first car you want to personlize it change it to make it your own i ask all those who opose boy racers but have a son/daughter who is about to take a driving test what if your son wants to personlise his car would you refuse, ban him/her from the road because he/she has alloy wheels and a spoiler and body kit and has a highspec sound system? no because you have no right in doing so if its son/daughters own car and paid for by son/daughter so what gives the right to stop anyone traveling on a highway!!!0 -

I was going to add something similar to my post Furby, there are a lot of girls involved, and they haven't been banned if thats the right term.
Some measure is needed to protect the majority of citizens from the antics of a group of idiots, but they are a minority in their own peer group, why should all younsters be treated the same.
The police need a telescopic rifle not a scatter gun to deal with this fairly, and no, I'm not seriously suggesteng they shoot them, their tyres maybe........?;)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -

You sure about that?
Do you really think that none of them are "fronting"?
Or that they've all declared to their insurance that their 1.2 car has a spoiler, extra lights, big exhaust, special air filter and big alloys?
And I'd agree with a couple of other posters.....they're not welcome anywhere. They almost always drive too fast, they're too noisy, inconsiderate and the cause of most accidents.
OFFS you people need to get over yourselves.
What are the youths of today allowed to do these days? Its a problem when they wear hoodies, its a problem when they drink heavily, and now when all they're doing is sitting around in their cars in a car park then now thats a !!!!!!! problem too??????
By all means if they drive like tw4ts on public roads throw the book at them, but sitting in a car park???
Most of these people take too much pride in their cars to risk damaging it by driving like a moron - yes there are a small minority of fools among them - but then thats the same in every age group?0 -
For all the talk against 'boy racers' the biggest problem in our local town is people - usually middle aged mums stopping in the middle of the road to ponder where they're going next, not indicating their intentions, double parking, talking on mobiles while driving and generally just suiting themselves to the detriment of every other road user around them.0
