Awww, that's awful. Work is hard enough without having to deal with stress the minute you walk in the door. I feel your pain
Could you make alternative arrangements for them instead? I know after-school club means fees, but you can often use Childcare vouchers and get tax free deductions from your salary.... hugs to you x0 -
I think we're going to have to, but Grandparent will take it very badly. Can say it on here as not my thread so hopefully not followed (), but DS has said he has been smacked around the face
He can tell white lies but he said it to her face and DD thinks it is true
:(
She helps out two days a week and it would mean £200 a month to use childcare but neither myself nor OH can cope with the constant phonecalls from her complaining about him and now this. Even DD says that he is being picked on.
Really stressed and they are there tomorrow which I am stressing about, sure chest pain is stress - I didn't think I was old enough :eek:1st debt - Next [STRIKE]£583.32[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£408.71 [/STRIKE] £0 :j

More jaffa cakes coming your way IMD xxSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

Aw poor you. I really do feel for you
You must be mentally and physically exhausted at the moment. And worrying that your kids might be getting knocked about at worst, or heavily disciplined in a way that doesn't sit right with you, adds to worry and stress that you don't need.
I had chest pain from stress whilst doing my degree, so I don' think age comes into it. But at any age it is to be avoided (if only I could take my own advice )
Sadly money dictates virtually every decision you have to make, but I think there are times, when family and sanity must override that and come first.
Our childcare fees are huge with DD1 in breakfast and after-school club 4 days a week and little DD in nursery 4 days. DD1 has a ball and is well looked after, but yes it is £200 per month.
A childminder would be cheaper for little DD (in fact we have paid £1000's in nursery fees over the past 6 years ), but even now, we feel it was/is money well spent.
I hope you can find a way to work it out what is best for YOU and YOUR family. You can find a way to let Gramps down gently - "they want to go because their friends go" etc.
Take care - it WILL sort itself out xxx0 -
On a lighter note. I am never ceased to be amazed at Embarrassing bodies!
A lady who lost 5 stone and ended up with baggy boobs, so awful that she gets dressed in the dark and is so ashamed of them. Yet thinks nothing of getting them out in front of millions on telly! :rotfl: classic!0 -
Thank you, what you say makes sense.
It makes me cross that the debt inadvertently affects the kids, as without it I wouldn't need to work full time and they could have more "me" time. DS said he was naughty for Grandma as he wants to be with me - he's only 5
I don't want the kids being exposed to the current irrational and emotional behaviour of gran. I personally don't oppose a slap of the hand if it's controlled but this sounds like a knee jerk reaction and done in temper which makes me cross and concerned.
Off to eat the hobnobs now and pretend they are Jaffa cakes which I would much prefer x1st debt - Next [STRIKE]£583.32[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£408.71 [/STRIKE] £0 :j

Thanks Hopeful
I didn't get one Hypno, I had to check the site with my Registration number and DOB.
I've now decided that I'm going to check out the charities and run for one of them.
My charity of choice would be MND, it has affected a few people I know and probably doesn't get as much attention as other charities.
I'd have to commit to raising £395 though, which is the hard part, but not impossible.....
My friend's doing the London Marathon and has to raise £2000 for her charity. She's made £500ish just from her online donations, so i'm sure you could do it too Mac. I'd be happy to make a small donation if you do decide to do it. Just pm me if the time comesOne step at a time0
