Hi Gill
Walking fast is often better for you than running and apparently burns more cals...Either way, it's moving and that is all that matters!
Yes, it was Living with the Enemy! But I missed the end as I ended up phoning up about the mortgage - what a cliffhanger! I'm betting they lived happily ever after - how lame.
Nevermind - Mad Men tonight0 -
What a hassle about the mortgage.......wuckfits indeed. I am right there with you!!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

Sorry you didn't get into the GNR but think of the money you've saved
Annoying about the mortgage, why don't they think to send you letters about these things! That really irritates me as it's avoidable and they are just out for money!
Hope you are feeling better today x1st debt - Next [STRIKE]£583.32[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£408.71 [/STRIKE] £0 :j

Thanks hun, yes I have just been thinking about the additional costs of the GNR ie: hotel, food, diesel, entrance fee, so perhaps next year.
I've also decided that I'm going to use the money saved on the mortgage this month and use it to get a will.
It bothers me that we haven't sorted it out, so when I have a day off at the end of the month, I'm going to organise that.
A friend recommended a local firm who charge £150 +VAT, which sounds reasonable and cheaper than the last place I contacted.0 -
sorry to hear about the bank, Natwaste are a complete waste of space.0

Me and OH were talking this week about sorting a will out as well. I really need to get my act together as I want to make sure I provide for the kids. Will put it on my list!

Thanks LT. The mortgage is in my name only. When I first looked for a mortgage I went to the Halifax and was turned down. The jumped-up woman from the Halifax was so snotty and said perhaps my parents were bad with money and I'd learnt bad habits  The cheek!
Actually my Mum and Dad could teach Martin a thing or two about being MSE! Therefore I HATE them now - the Halifax, not M&D(well that's abit strong - but I'd never bank with them).
So as I did bank with Natwest, they accepted me and the mortgage has remained with them as it was never cheaper to switch.
In all honesty I've found them fine. My student account was with them and I only switched in 2004 when I joined this site, to Lloyds - frying pan and fire spring to mind there....:cool:0 -
But the halifax are suuuuuch nice people :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

Oooh, defo get a freebie if you can!
Yes, I feel a bit irresponsible that I haven't sorted that, as the fallout would be catatrosphic if the worst happened. Though I can't say I'm looking forward to the "Who will have the kids if we die" question
All part of being a grown-up I suppose....0
