- want to avoid baby things for her because she has already said she bets thats what people will buy her for Christmas
OS would appreciate the Cineworld pass as he can get 2for1 tickets on Wednesdays through Orange and can take a friend with him for freeThat's what I do anyway. He can't study all the time! I got it as my birthday gift last year and it's an amazing present to receive!
For OD, how about Amazon vouchers so she can buy DVDs etc for when she's in the house with the little one. Or you could also hand-make some vouchers for "me time" for her, you babysit while she goes out with friends etc. How about a pamper session? She might like that once she's happy to leave the baby and then Gramma DT can babysit?
I saw an amazing thing when I was out shopping that might do for 93 year old.
Shall go and google it!0 -

Essentially, it's a journal that you mum would fill in herself with family stories, history, memories of her life. A present for her and for you when she hands it back.
I'm getting it for my mum next year!
Thanks FF you have convince me to get the cineworld for OS I think I will get it for OD too she has a few months before the baby is due and as you say grandma is happy to baby sit I have seen the quidco tip on your thread too
The journal is a great idea and will be good for some me and her time too ty for that need to see if there is a shop near us to save postage but otherwise I am going to get it anyway - you guys are great!:T

I lost one toenail prior to the marathon, during a 19 mile training run (I can't believe that I can only just manage 3 miles now!) and several on the day itself. During the summer, I had to paint nailvarnish straight onto my skin in order that I could wear sandals......it was not a glam look
DS is skiing tomorrow morning, so if I don't ache too much from today, I will plod around the lake.......
DT - for OD, a session with a masseuse or reflexologist that specialises in maternity would, I am sure, be appreciated - when pregnant, everyone asks about the baby but people forget about the poor woman carrying it.....a bit of pampering wouldn't go amiss, I am sure.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. You took the words right out of my mouth.
I wholeheartedly agree with this DT. Everyone focuses on babe and not Mum. What about signing her up for some yoga classesIf you could find a pregnancy specific one, it would really help her relax and get focused....
Massage definitely and while we're on the subject of feet - pedicures, because she won't be able to reach them later on and nice feet are essential during the summer (I could get you a good deal on purple glittery one)

Thanks Hypno and Mac.
She is so slim feet are still visible she still doesnt look pregnant at all  also she is not a girly girl She is not into yoga or massage and I think I want to leave the pampering until nearer the times she is due when she might appreciate it at the moment I don't think she would be that interested also I think she would still see it as baby related and the vibes I am getting I think she sees this as a last "normal" birthday and christmas not expressing that very well but I feel she wants something that doesn't refer to the baby at all - not that she is hasn't happy about the baby but she is about to experience a big life changing event and wants to delay that as long as possible - does that make sense

Makes perfect sense, DT.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0
