HeeHee, thanks! Look for a fat bird with middle-aged spread huffing and puffing her way round!

You know when you've been gardening all day and every muscle in your body aches and you could fall asleep standing up? I feel like that.

Today has been full-on, then I had fish and chips for tea - with a can of Dandelion and Burdock! Last night we had a curry!!! :rotfl: :o:o:o
NOT the best race prep imaginable - in fact it's most probably the polar-opposite of what you should do (moving house the day before just adds insult to injury )

Ah well.....I'm fortunate that I'm able to do it and if I'm a bit tired, then so what? There are plenty suffering greater challenges than a bit of running - so bring it on!

Will defo report back tomorrow evening x

Ah, well, from THAT description, I am BOUND to spot you :D

I have a two hour run arranged myself tomorrow - but we have timed it so we are back in front of the telly in good time for the GNR

    :o The pressure!!!!

I still haven't decided what to wear. It'll be cold and rainy I think, so I'm spared the shorts and will wear my full length jobbers. TG as my legs are lily white due to running out of time to fake tan
So it's a toss up between the purple Kidney Research vest, which I haven't practised in, or my trusty bright blue short sleeved half zip top....will it matter?!!

The good news is I've already raised over £300 with more promised from techno-phobes :T:T:T

    Hi macgirl,

I'm definitely a change the locks person. It's surprising how many spare keys are left with relatives, friends and neighbours etc., so it's not just the people moving out, it can be lots of other people too with keys to the house.

Hope the run goes well and well done on getting so much sponsorship.

    :j:j:j:j:j:j I DID IT!!! :j:j:j:j:j:j

Unofficial time was 2.12 (inc 11mins of toilet breaks :D) Official time was 2.23, so nothing to be ashamed of but I could have gone quicker had my bladder held out

What a palaver getting there! We had to take 2 trains, first was replaced by a bus, 6 of us got on - 2 didn't as there was not enough room - so we all got off and drove to the next station. Got there same time as said bus, but still missed our train to Newcastle. Cheap tickets = buy more tickets, despite it not being our fault - jobsworths wouldn't have it so another £65 spent. (This is after sleeping in as I was awake from 3.30 this morning - head buzzing with the house excitement!)

My friend's hubby and I rushed off to the start to find them already packing it away! Luckily we managed to start, but ran the first 2 miles without seeing a soul. It was so funny running down the middle of a dual carriageway alone :rotfl: Then EVERYONE was calling my name in encouragement which was a bit surreal but very heartwarming.

Anyway, I really enjoyed it, though the rain was torrential for the last mile or so, but a good day was had by all and the sense of achievement is immense! :D

Just soaked in Radox and now lying on my bed sipping a large bottle of water - night all x

What a stressful start!!! But by not having the masses surrounding you at the start you could, at least, run your own race I suppose.

An excellent time too.......**mutters about the challenge being on** Well done, and I am glad you enjoyed it. I watched it on the telly, of course, from the comfort of my sofa but hope I get in to do it next year.....

Have a good housemoving week, and I hope you don't ache too much today xxx

Thanks Hypno! I admit I got to 2.17 and thought "bogger" :rotfl:

I enjoyed it soooooo much though, even though it was tough and am defo going to enter next year and start right at the back, as I did get into my stride straight away. By the time we caught up with the walkers - and 20 Bernie Clifton a-likes! Hilarious - I was quite comfortable. The weather was perfect and just what I had requested from the Universe.

No blisters, black toenails or chaffing ;) Legs are a bit stiff, but nothing out of the ordinary. I'm still on such a high!

Now that there is chip timing, there is no disadvantage to you starting at the back, whereas in the old days you would have just had to rely on your own watch for your time. So, things are much better now, in that respect.

I hope to see you on the start line next year - perhaps we can go sub 2 hrs.....?

    :D
