Just checked the weather forecast for Sunday - Heavy Rain
But at least it's not blazing hot sun :j
Best get my rain jacket out - luckily I don't have to buy one!
Have a good day x0 -
You joined when it was the right time for you - had you joined in 2004, you may well not have taken any real interest in it in the same way as you have done recently!
Concentrate on the move for the next few days. Relish the fact that you have achieved something that this time last year was still only a dream and at other times has been an impossibility due to the debt etc.. but that you have now actually DONE!
Then get out your "must have" list and pick something on it, and start brainstorming.....it will all happen x

Morning from another early bird
Agree with the others, you need to find a word that works for you and a method that works for you. I find having different accounts for different things works, the main bill paying account generally always has the same amount in it, other accounts are the ones I can gain on.
Once the move has taken place and you have tenants in, think about it more clearly. At the moment there's too much going on, and you can't separate things out enough.
Have a good day

You have had some good advice here Macgirl but moving is very stressful so don't be too hard on yourself.
You are doing OK and you will reach your financial targets as you have achieved your dream house:A

For me budgets and cashflow forecasts are tools to be used, that you take control of and use to fulfill the objectives you want. To get control of them needs practise and effort and finetuning, but it's like any skill practise makes it better, and when you get them to work properly you'll be able to use them to achieve your targets.
If you compare it to using a sewing machine, the more you practise and the more sophisticated the machine the better things you can achieve with it. If you just buy one and don't do anything with it, its useless.
Sorry if it doesn't make sense
"I got out the keyboard and found that they don't got for that much, then DH said it might be worth keeping it as we're going to get the kids piano lessons and "at least they can practise on the keyboard with headphones on"." Just spotted your post about the keyboards, unless they're touch sensitive like a real piano they're no good for piano lessons as the children don't learn to control the volume with the pressure on the keys. But it depends on if you mean piano or keyboard lessons.0 -
Thank you lovely ladies :A
Had a very boring and slow day today - clock watching all day and thinking of all the million jobs I could be doing at home.
DH worked at home today and texted me to say my bank had been on the phone and could I ring them about my account, so I'll have to speak to them tomorrow.
My first instinct was "forget it" bt they might just be ringing to help - as it was from the local branch and they surprisingly nice....I'll find out when I put myself in the firing line.
I think it's true that I need to concentrate on the move, tenants and then attack this "project" with gusto and a clear head.
9 days to payday
Hope everyone has had a good day and thanks again0 -
I feel better this evening. I've packed some more boxes and done the MG/Mr Big Challenge - cleaned out my purse and bag. The good news is that I found £3.23 at the bottom of my bag :j It's amazing what such a small job does - I always feel so organised when I've done it.
I've not really spent much time on the challenges thus far, just sketched out the bare bones, but I have been thinking about them....When we move and things settle down, I can give it my full attention. It has come along at exactly the right time, little DD is off to school full time next week, we'll be in a new house with nothing to do and my head will have a bit of space....
Also, we have another person to view next week - the evening before we move out  but can't really refuse, so let's hope he/she has a good imagination!
The EA gave us some feedback today, the lads had "financial issues" so can't proceed any further. The man who was in alot of financial difficulty took an application, but we don't want to let it to him - I feel bad but it's too risky. The others have not been back in touch.
I quizzed the agent on their mailing lists and what else they suggest to let it. Properties let quickly in this area, so I'm not overly worried, but can't have them resting on their laurels!
Right off to bed I think - though I feel wide awake, might mooch for a bit x0 -
sorry to hearthat everything not plain sailing at the moment ...am sure everything will be fine after the move and you'll get some lovely new tennants0

Good luck with the bank.
I am sure that anyone who looks around your house, whether the day before you move, or the day after, will be able to see it for the lovely home that it is xSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. Thanks. Despite looking lovely, really there are a couple of sticking doors and back gate that need attention. The lady who fell in love with it, had a partner who did al those things, rattling bannisters etc and grunting, so I'll have to set DH to work. He'll LOVE that!
Just making spaghetti for lunch and a casserole for tea, then off to work. There is lots to do, but more to do at home, so I couldn't get my head into it yesterday...
I haven't given the GNR a second thought eitherReally need to get my head into that tonight.
Worked out my money last night and the budget for the new house, cancelled old DD's and set up a new mandate for the girl's after school club. I can eek out my money until next Friday when I get paid (thought it was 23rd then - Dur!) so if I ring the bank they'll only be trying to "help" me by selling my a loan, so I might steer clear.....I'll see how work is.
Have a good day x0
