Thanks for the info - looks fab to me, and always much better to go somewhere that has been recommended. Availability for the time I want to go is low, though, so I need to get myself organsised and commit to it, which would be rather nice.....giving me something lovely to look forward to.
What are the chances of me getting my bum pinched by a gorgeous Italian while I am there? Don't want to miss out if at all possible :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Se, we thought it would be walkable from the train station, so thought we'd be romantic and take the train. It was 8pm when we got there, so thought we'd get a cab to the hotel as it looked like a good mile and a half walk.
It ended up costing us 28 euros for the train - we bought the tickets from the machine (weren't too confident in asking in Italian!) and the only ones available were 1st Class. When on the train we couldn't see a 1st Class carriage, so got fleeced - but put it down to experience.
As the hotel looked near the station we thought the cab would be cheap but that cost another 20 euros (always more for a baggage charge ). When we got to the hotel he said they had a car to the airport for 50 euros - so we took that back. So as I said, I think there is defo a cheaper way - and next time we'd forget the romance and take the bus!
As for bum pinching Italian men Hypno - I'm sure you'll meet plenty of them!0 -

Buns done - it's back to work tomorrow for me, so I have to take cakes. So, I'm excelling myself and making them and a carrot cake :A
It doubles as a children's activity too so very MSE. I braved the bank accounts and everything looks as it should, but I did receive a £12 late fee from Tesco  I need to ring them as I wasn't late with it - we bought the windows using that card so I'm not declaring it my sig here.
Also, I collared a builder who was visiting next door - he's used by the letting agent we are going with, so thought he'd be reputable. He's going to ring with a quote for repairing and rendering our porch. It's more cash, but really needs to be sorted before we leave.
Other than that, I don't feel as though I have done much. I didn't get around to cutting the tiles, but will try and do that this evening.
Supermarket shop came under budget and will be the last big one until after we move when we'll be living on dry bread and gruel :cool:0 -

First day back at work after my hols, so feel a bit spaced out. The cakes went down well - or buns as I called them and confused lots of people who thought I'd made bread buns with icing on!
I also got some lovely presents and cards - as well as a few bottles of champers from my lovely colleagues. I'm very lucky to have such nice friends.
Had a very interesting meeting today that I can't really talk about on here, but it was VERY interesting
Good news is both valuations came back fine! :j:j:j Whooopeeeeee!!!! So, I guess it is GAME ON - let the packing commence
We need to pay for various certificates for here before we let it, so I need to sort that out this evening. People keep commenting that I'm very calm to say we're moving in 2 weeks, and I am trying not to let it stress me. I guess I didn't want to jump the gun until we knew we'd get the mortgage(s), so now we have, I need to crack on...
Hope everyone's well and had an ok day0 -

Swans look effortless on the surface, but below they paddle like mad, I think we've seen more of the paddling
Pleased to hear things are going OK. Wish it was me with somewhere to buybut a week in October to house hunt
Best wishes for the packing etc..
P.S. Due to previous experiences, we now don't think we're moving until exchange, but we have had lots of experiences!!! For us a good gap between exchange and completion is normally something we like when in a chain.0 -
