Well, after a good start this morning, the day has gone downhill.
Took DD to swimming lesson, then to return some party shoes. (Even typing that makes me sound like such a lush. Why the hell am I buying them party shoes???? It's too boring to justify.)
Anyway she asked if we could go to a cafe as a treat, so rather than my usual "No" to everything, I said ok. She's a good girl, who works hard at school, ballet and swimming and as her little sis had gone to a party, I thought "Why not".
It was so sweet spending time having afternoon tea - but £7.10 later.....

Then I swapped the shoes for a cuddly fleece (each) - needed for her as she only really has her school uniform and summer clothes that fit :o - more money wasted....

Kids in bed and time to tackle the Tsunami of washing - about 4 loads and ironing - 2 baskets.
My bedroom looks literally like a jumble sale - literally. It just seems so hopeless. We have no storage space for the kid's clothes.
I'm so sick of moaning about it, so am trying to be pro-active and get the attic sorted. OH went for a run, so I thought I'd check on his progress....

I wish I hadn't. There is sooooo much stuff there. He cannot throw anything out. He has every magazine he's ever bought and there is just carp everywhere.
It doesn't help that I am a Hurricane and he is a gentle breeze (hare and the tortoise is not in it )

I made some progress in the bedroom, but there is still a big pile that I'll have to sort tomorrow.
Then into the dining room, which - after being totally clear last week - is again full. Paperwork to file, and Ebay pile I can't even look at and party invitations to post (Mum's surprise Do, that's another story), notes to write in some and a million unopened letters to OH and trillions more of those upstairs :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Then I got a call from my little sis, saying "You haven't even posted the invites yet?!"

So I made a coffee (no wine in) and ate 4 chocolate biscuits and 2 large oat & raisin cookies, that I'd asked DH not to buy because I'm trying to lose weight before Christmas!!!!

Ooops - sorry for that. If anyone read all that - good on you and my apologies. I feel so much better :)

Well recon you can dismiss the calories in the cookies as sounds like you have wizzed round the house, so I bet you are at least 500+ cals in credit!!

I have a OH like that..sometimes Its like by the time he has just "thought" about something , I have whipped round, done the job he is "thinking" about, made a coffee and loaded the washer. Think its a man thing! I try to bit my tounge and smile, as I know he does not do it to vex me...or to make me want to stick a hot poker up his bottom!!!!!!!

Keep going, your diary is really inspiring x

HaHa! Thanks Chops (OH has just asked me what I'm grinning at - "Nothing!")

Sadly the calories burnt need to be. The cookies are sat right under my chin.
But I am going for another run in the morning and do the other "toning" bits.

Glad it's inspiring! "How to get fatter and increase your debt!";)
    Take care x

    Good Morning!

Welcome to MSE Live Within Ma Means! :hello:
I've been a member of these boards since January 2004 - but only started seriously posting 6 months ago. The difference "coming out" has made is huge. My whole attitude has shifted, so I'm sure it would do the same for you.
You should join the Mad PADDERS (Payment A Day), it's a great thread, hugely motivating and very friendly - there's always a laugh to be had. Hope to see you over there ;)

    Morning Miemie
I had to laugh at that - sorry! :D
When we bought this house it had 2 horrible 50's tiled fireplaces that we wanted to rip out. DH got a chisel and hammer and gently started chipping each tile off like a Master Craftsman.
My Dad called and frowned when he saw what DH was doing. Dad stepped in with a crowbar, wedged it down the back of the fireplace twice and literally pulled it off the wall in one!
Then put in under his arm and walked off with it! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I can't complain about DH really, the flip side is he's very calm and has a wickedly dry sense of humour.
Last night I was reading about the poor man who accidently strangled his wife - such a tragic story. I was talking about it to DH and said I'd better be careful he doesn't strangle ME in my sleep!

He raised an eyebrow and said "In your sleep?":rotfl:

This morning I did make it out for my run. The first 2 miles was hard going, up hill into a strong biting wind. I'm very hormonal today, so felt like I was dragging an extra 2 stone with me
Didn't manage the full programme of toning, but did 50 crunches and 30 side waist thingies and a few box press-ups. I do feel better for going out. By the fourth mile I started to stretch out my legs a bit and work harder, which felt good.
Then followed that with some porridge - made with water and a splash of milk :A and some fresh pineapple!

Excuse me while I polish my halo......................that's better!:D

No wins on BB this morning :rolleyes::rolleyes: Need to get my Ebay head on, as I really couldn't face it yesterday.

Just off to take the kids swimming. DD1 (or "Mary" as we now call her) has lessons and can swim, but just looks like she is drowning, so needs more regular practise. Can't say I'm looking forward to getting my grey/whiteness out today - especially as we bumped into a male acquaintance last time. V.embarrassing! :o

That's all for now - will catch up later. Have a good day if you're reading this , Mac x
  • I love the "coming out" statement at least this is a safe place to come out I wouldn't do it in the real world.

In one house I got OH to rip a huge stone built fireplace out of the second lounge we didn't get around to replacing it and decided to put the house on the market so I got him to put it back :o he didn't complain and it looked like it had always been there instead of sitting outside for several months :rotfl:

Your exercise programme makes me feel really ashamed I know my excess weight is more to do with lack of exercise rather than what I eat - I have porridge no sugar with fresh fruit every day but I hate exercise - but I used to be so thin although always rather busty and now I am a lump that needs to lose at least 6 stone
