Oh yes, I remember the days of mortgage-sized childcare bills, it is a wonder we ever managed to afford to eat!!
Glad that the number crunching is going to plan

It is thanks!
On Monday we have the IFA coming round. The deal our bank have offered in principle is good for our existing mortgage - which we can port, but extortion for the extra amount we wish to borrow.
I've been doing some research and I wonder if we can get a better deal than the IFA suggests, so he will be working hard for his fee as I will have all my evidence
As the vendors are relocating and want to get their kids into a new school, it's fair to expect that we will be moving around the end of August ( to all the decluttering and packing!) - if all goes well.....
Tomorrow I'm going into the agents with our ID and mortgage offer letter, then I'll be making sure it's taken off the market. After Monday it will be full steam ahead

That sounds very exciting0

Wow, to think you may be in your new home in just a few weeks... really pleased for you x
Fantastic news on the childcare costs, what a saving!
I no longer need childcare vouchers in term time, just for holidays, so I have left mine at £20 a month. So it means when the holidays come round, I will have the vouchers to cover it. Rather than having to magic from my skinny budget!LBM Total: £33356 15/11/09  £6085.63 paid
Pay off 10% by March 2010 (3336) yes!!!:j
Pay 19k by Dec 2010 19000/5732.39 30.12%

Bonjour!
Another early morning. I got up at 4.30am as my mind was whirring round at lightspeed. I've been reading Kirstie & Phil's book - How to Buy a House. It's signed as I met them at a book signing years ago - they are both lovely!
Anyway, it's made me realise I'll have to micro-manage this sale if we are to complete in 6 weeks. As I've only bought one house before, the process is a bit of a blur, so I needed to gen up. I've got our passports and offer letter ready to drop into the agents this morning.
DH ended up coming down at 5am and we have just had an hour long discussion. It seems like we don't talk as much anymore and this bothers both of us, so it was good to clear the air and talk without being constantly interrupted by demanding little women
I've sold my Davina DVD already :j so that has been packaged ready for postage this morning and £8.08 should be winging it's way to my account tout suite!
There will be much more Ebaying/Amazoning over the next couple of weeks I am sure, which is good :money:0 -
Morning! 6 weeks is very doable, especially if you only have the purchase to do and not a sale alongside it. You will be absolutely fine, and although you will want to get tenants in your current house asap, if there is an overlap of a few weeks where you are in both houses still moving stuff and finishing stuff off in the old house, it will still work - you are in a very good position there!
Have a good day xSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Yes, DH wants a couple of weeks of this being empty so we can finish jobs properly. The letting agents wanted to photgraph it furnished, so I'll have to get them round in the next 2 weeks or things will be in boxes.
Right, shopping list is done. Amazon parcel is on the launchpad.
I just need to
have a quick shower,
get the girls up,
do the school run,
nip into the post office,
call at the estate agents,
go to buy a large tin of white gloss paint,
nip to sainsbo's,
come home,
cut down tree,
clean house from top to bottom (literally),
prepare tea to DD's exact instructions,
collapse!
Have a good day all

Been to EA and submitted the info. The vendors want to move at the end of August too, so it's full steam ahead - am so excited now! :j
Been to supermarket and spent within budget :A so that will be the last big shop now before we move, as I'm going to try and run everything down to nothing.
Trees are half cut down, we need a chain saw for the rest as the branches are too thick. I used such force to cut one branch I felt like I was giving birth! :rotfl: My Mum was holding the ladder and falling about laughing at the same time.
The surveyor from the house insurance claim called round as we were bagging up the trees. By the time he had gone, my Mum had filled 15 bags! She is like a machine.
Right, I've got 2 of DD1's friends for tea and the bathroom needs another thorough clean, so must dash.0 -
Good that things are going according to plan, and now I have this amazing picture in my mind of you in your sequinned leggings armed with a chainsaw :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Sadly not.
DH came home and looked in dismay at the tree
Oh well, he'll be up it with a saw tomorrow (but I'll mention that in the morning
)
The kids ran riot for 4 hours and now I'm calming down with a glass of wine. Later I'm going to go through the 100's of interior magazines I hoard and take out the tear sheets I need and bin the rest tomorrow.
In the morning I have to buy paint, then after swimming and ballet I'll start painting the window frames.
Sunday, I plan to begin clearing the cellar and list some of the spoils on Ebay. I'm so focused I still haven't even opened this week's envelope - let alone spend it :T0
