It sounds like you still need a bigger than average clothes budget for the field that you work in. So accepting it is going to be bigger than normal is part of the field you work in. So maybe the capsule wardrobe approach of only buying things on the needed wish might help, lots of people on Hypno's thread are trying to get nearer the capsule approach.Ooops, I missed this last night Se.
No I don't have work clothes as such, as I work in the fashion industry so I always need to look "current". How shallow does that sound?
It's not a demand as such, just the kind of job I have and it's also my passion, so is not a chore.
I do buy in sales and never buy designer, but clothes are my weakness. As you say, everyone needs a treat and TBH I think I'm probably a bit hard on myself on here sometimes.
Much as I admire uber-frugal peeps - I know that will never be me. But I HAVE massively changed and if the debt takes longer to repay - then so be it. I still have to live a little

Sadly Se, when it comes to my wardrobe "capsule" is on even on my radar! :rotfl:
I am more considered than I used to be though and TBH don't shop in Primarni etc - for ethical reasons more than anything, but also because it's throw away fashion and I'd rather pay more for things that last. I do wear pieces that I've had for years, so this does play out well. Thanks

Hi stranger!
Yep Hypno has spoken and we have slavishly followed (though to give her due credit, I first read about it on Buffy's thread).
Just done mine - plus 10 minutes of Blast Off Belly Fat! :j:j:j
I woke at 5.30am with a clear head. DH and I are on the same page regarding the house so it's all positive. I'm going to ring the agent this morning and put the nice lady out of her misery. I think we need to view it again to "measure up". I know we love the house, but I just want to see it again.
Right off to shower and get to work. Must work extra hard today as my mind was not on the job at all yesterday.
Have a good day all x0 -

I've just been in the phone to my sister. She's been trying for a baby for 2 years with no luck. She;s just found out she has fibroids for the 3rd time and is really at the end of her tether. I feel so sorry for her. She is a A&E nurse in the States, so the adrenalin is pumping all day, which she knows is not good. So far she has avoided the IVF route and tried the holistic, Chinese medicine / accupuncture approach.
She said she's never felt better but still - she's not pregnant, so is getting deflated. She is 38 and feels time is running out, it's so sad......
Right really must shake a leg

My heart goes out to people who desperately want a baby and can't have one. My friends were in the same position, but had tried for 10 years. She was very "holistic" too, but ended up trying IVF.....fell pregnant on her first attempt and had a baby girl , then decided to try IVF for a second baby, but fell pregnant naturally before she was able to attend the appointment!
I was very lucky and fell pregnant with ease when planned, so I thank my lucky stars when I read stories like your sisters.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Your poor sister ...stress and andrenelin causese so many problems. She may be lucky first time.0

Sorry to hear about your sister Macgirl we had no joy either so had to go the IVF route hence the two sets of twins things have improved so much since we first tried when the success rate was really poor we considered ourselves lucky after years of alternative treatments that we succeeded on our second attempt with our eldest twins should have been satisfied at that but they grew up so fast I couldn't help wanting more children the youngest twins took a lot of attempts spread over a number of years because of my age and our last attempt was really our last attempt so was thrilled to bits when I knew I was pregnant and to have to have twins again was an extra blessing. Dread to think how much it cost us over the years but don't regret a penny spent.
Good luck with the "measuring of your new home" hope it lives up to your previous viewing.

Thanks lovely ladies :A
I feel so helpless and so wish I could have one for her.
She has always worked with kids and really loves them and they her, so she always said it would be a cruel irony if she was infertile.
I think that she has given so much of herself to others and all the years of hurt (she only met her DH 2 years ago) has somehow switched things to "off" IYSWIM.
But I'm a great believer and really think she can get there if she can change certain areas of her life. I have broached IVF, but her DH is a medic too and they both don't want to go there at the moment, so I have to support her decision.
She is coming over next month to look after our girls while we go away for my birthday, so that will do her good

Today I have been number crunching aplenty.
I called the out of school club to see if they accept childcare vouchers - they do. So instead of DD1's out of school club costing us £175 a month, plus little DD's nursery fees being £300 (plus the £243 that leaves my salary before tax - aka childcare voucher) the total bill from September will be £87.17 A MONTH :j:j:j
It feels like we are coming to the end of a very long tunnel. Don't know why I've been worrying about a second mortgage - we've been paying one for years :rotfl: At it's peak we were paying almost £1000 a month in childcare fees
I also still have £12.21 left in my purse :j I love envelopes
