Indeed, but if she can do it, so can you!

A friend of mine wanted a mirror for her new house, but it was £800 and hubby said "No". So she set out to raise the money herself and sold all her tat on Ebay. She raised more than she needed and then decided to get a cheaper one and save the rest.
I know I'm very goal driven and wanting to move has given me a serious kick up the behind.

    Hello

Sold another couple of items on Ebay today totalling £19, so that will go towards the fund :T

Didn't quite manage an NSD though but nothing drastic, other than that nothing else to report. I've got loads of work to do this evening, so will probably dip in and out.

Ooh almost forgot - I ran 4 miles this morning - a new route including 2 massive hills. My "buns" are aching to say the least! Did my abs DVD yesterday and will do tomorrow, then aiming for 6 miles on Friday and 9 on Sunday

Well done on the ever increasing window fund - how much do you need to raise?

Glad you went to see the house and worked out what you want to do. I would absolutely love to move to an older and more traditional house but our house is big enough for us and we don't really need to move, just that I want a very old house with a very big price tag :D
    1st debt - Next [STRIKE]£583.32[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£408.71 [/STRIKE] £0 :j
    2nd debt - MBNA - £6,618.52
First in many many to go - baby steps and all that!
First lump sum to go - fingers crossed!
    08/06/09 - [STRIKE]£11,497.68[/STRIKE] NOW - £9,757.75

Thanks IMD, yep large houses with large price tags are my problem!

Just got home and thought I'd pop on whilst waiting for the dinner to cook.
Looking forward to 4 days off :j There's plenty to do and so far I am very motivated to do it!

I'm on a mission to not spend money, declutter and makes strides towards getting out of here, by getting ready to move.
Some of the jobs I thought we needed to do, can wait. I have to stop being a perfectionist and accept that not everywhere needs to be perfect.

We're going to try and view some properties at the other end of the budget, with a view to adding value. Sadly, after renovating this house DH has lost all enthusiasm for that route. Pity.

Either way, there will be no days out or trips to the seaside this weekend, so the kids will have to make do with that 70's childhood activity of getting bored :rotfl:

Well, we will have to settle for a "stepping stone" house. The Dream house will have to wait for now!

DH has gone swimming, but before he went he said he'll do some DIY this weekend :T Progress!

In the meantime, he has asked that we don't view any more houses until we've had financial advice regarding keeping this and renting it out or selling.
I would rather stay another year than sell. We've already stayed longer than we intended in order to let it, so I don't want to abandon that plan now.
He seems to think an IFA will tell us what to do and we'll do that. I see it as more information so we can make an informed decision.

I'm so sick of thinking about money :(
Did manage a NSD though :A

I def think it is right to take advice - but that is all it is....advice......the whole point of it being that you can make an informed decision.

When are you going to see someone - have you made an appointment with someone yet?

As for stepping stones - this is my 7th stepping stone house......time for me to reach the other side I reckon!!

Well I'm on numero uno, but hoping to jump a few rungs as typically I'm both impatient and over-ambitious....

I know we will both get there :)

Just going to watch the end of the "debate" (well rehearsed sound bites), then sort my life out, washing and sorting paperwork.
