Sorry I haven't been around this last week folks - blame a fluey cold for that! On the bright side I lost 4 pounds - so 6 pounds down on the month so far! :D:D:D

I'll be setting up December's challenge mid to late week (unless you want to run it in December again LazyDaisy?)

    Wow, well done everyone :T

So I weighed in on Sat morning to find out I'd put on 3/4 of a pound. Severely unimpressed with this as it's the first weigh in since I started the diet that I've put weight on, so I was in a foul mood all day. However I took the advice of mum who politely told me I was looking bloated (god love her, she was taking her life into her own hands telling me that when I was in a mood) and to weigh in again the next day. I have daft food allergies so if I accidentally have something that upset me then it does tend to make me retain water.

So I weighed in on Sunday morning to discover that I was magically 2 lbs lighter so I suppose overall I've lost a pound or so this week. It feels like cheating to say that though - don't know why but it does

Need to be stricter with myself this week though. Too many lattes and no exercise, tut tut.

Um thanks I think! Well in that case sorry folks but you are stuck with me

AlexNikov - I would go with the second reading - allergies as you say can cause all sorts of problems - but tut! to the large numbers of lattes (did you enjoy them?;))

Not really, that's the problem :o I have to have soya milk and I can only drink so much of it before I get sick and tired of the taste. I was mainly just drinking them because I'm bored of going for coffee with people and having a bottle of water.

Gah, I'm just generally a bit fed up of dieting at the moment. Roll on this Friday though - if I hit the 3 stone barrier then I'm getting treated to some new bras :rotfl:

I've been thinking again about incentives, and i thought setting some money aside for each kilo spent might be a good visual aid, for a treat at the end....can't decide whether to take sensible 1lb for a pound or see if I could manage a tenner per kilo!
  • I managed a pound this week so really pleased with myself! :D

    1lb for a pound

    What a great idea!

It would have to be £1 for 1lb for me - I don't think in kilos and anyway I need easy and regular encouragement. But I might try and give myself a £10 bonus on the months I hit the half stone loss.

A jar of £1 coins by the fridge could be just the visual and regular reminder I need.

(It would be even better if I had an OH to reward me instead :A)

:) I think in stone too, and have only swapped to kilos since med change,...because its what the docs ar using. A kilo is a depressing aim, but a smaller loss to end goal......my feeling is that while i have a lot to lose a smaller number ingrained in my head might be less ..daunting. I can swapp back to pounds later on when I want to tick it off quicker.

I did think of trying to convince dh to pay me a lb for a pound AND a £10er for a kilo, butddn't think it would wash being paid twice over for somehing that should need no incentive of its own!:o
