  • Very rarely iron, some trousers, skirts and shirts need ironing for work but that's about it.

I iron bedsheets for guests if they're really creased, if you can actually feel the creases when you lie on them I get the iron out! :rotfl:

I iron almost everything, apart from socks and bras (don't laugh, i've honestly heard of people ironing their socks!) I have a steam generator iron and some things just need put on a hangar and steamed - they don't actually need ironed. I also have a stand and hang up clothes as I go along - it makes it easier for everyone just to put away their own stuff if it's already on hangers.

I like my things ironed. Everything looks much better. I don't like if my mum comes round to give me a hand - she folds everything up wrong! I also iron my dishcloths - but that's more to do with killing any bacteria that might be on there but they do look tidier in the drawer!

I also iron my rags cloths. :o

I hope someone else comes on and admits to ironing. I enjoy doing it though.
  • I iron OH's work clothes-shirts and trousers, school shirts and some of the kids' clothes depending how crumpled they are and tablecloths. I think I iron my clothes the least and dd's the most although that is a TOTAL waste of time because she just shoves the carefully ironed items in a corner in her bedroom and I might as well have not bothered:mad:

I do not ever iron bedding, towels (OMG who does?!), underwear, nightwear but I do iron teatowels (except the towelling ones)- I like nice smooth piles of folded tea towels :o Oh, I iron my aprons too!

Since joining the air cadets my eldest son (14) has learnt to iron his uniform :T:T

Very seldom! The only thing I iron on a regular basis is linen trousers in summer (and five minutes after putting them on I wonder why I bothered ironing them as they're all creased again).

If I do iron, I do it in the morning before going out, as and when I need to.

Really wish I could be bothered to iron the bed linen as it looks much nicer, but I just can't bring myself to do it. Lucky we have stuff that doesn't crease too easily.

I iron DH work shirts, uniforms, most of my tops, some skirts & trousers, some of DD's things and, like Thriftlady, my aprons :D I don't iron jeans, bedding, towels, tea towels, anything that has dried flat or blown on the line & doesn't look creased, nightwear or undies.

My Mum still irons everything in sight and is amazed that I put bedding on unironed. I suppose its what you get used to as well.

I don't mind ironing but I have to be in the mood for it and then I can whizz through it whilst listening to the radio ;)

Next to nothing. The odd pair of trousers if they haven't dried well. My uniform shirts if they are crumpled - the odd few creases will drop out as I wear them anyway from body heat. DD's school shirts are polycotton and the creases drop out when they are hung up and in wear.

If the iron comes out once a month that's a lot for me.

    Life's too short to iron!
  • I iron clothes and bedding - not towels or underwear. I've got a steam generator which saves loads of time and I hang shirts etc up to dry on hangers which seems to help.

do you iron everything or just the bits people see. for instance do you iron towels, bedding, underwear? i personally iron day wear, sleep wear, vests and bedding. that tends to be it lol. just wondered how many of us iron everything.

I iron all tops, trousers, skirts etc, but don't do underwear or bedding.
I would iron curtains if they have been washed.
Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.

sleep wear, vests and bedding ... why? why? & why?

& as for linen & towels ... I thought one of the points of linen is that it looks better creased  & you reduce the absorbency of towels by ironing

I only iron for weddings, funerals & job interviews ;)
