What kind of cotton clothes don't need ironing?. I must need to change my washing machine as my clothes come out looking like screwed up rags and then need ironing.
Freshly ironed bedlinen is lovely after a hard evening ironing!!

WOW I was thinking about this earlier when I was ironing Judo stuff :D

I used to iron everyting... tea towels and underwear, bedding, socks... anything that could be ironed!!

Now I iron school uniforms, t-shirts, jeans. I don't iron bedding, tea towels or underwear anymore. I get the bedding straight on the line or maden and try to fold it carefully when it's dry.

    I HATE ironing

Drip-dried ones. Hang them up on hangers straight from the machine, or line up side seams etc and give them a quick shake out before pegging up or hanging over the drying frame. Gets rid of 90% of creases. Or tumble-dry till 95% dry then treat as above. Really, it's worth doing this even if you do intend ironing the clothes because it makes ironing a lot easier. Jeans that have been folded on the crease and hung to dry on a coat hanger, for example, don't look any diferent from ironed ones.

Once you get into the mindset of wanting to iron as little as possible you become much choosier about what fabrics your clothes are made of! No more 100% cotton t-shirts.....3% lycra 97% cotton ones never need ironing and keep their shape 100% better. M&S do 100% cotton non-iron shorts. (Mercerised cotton, I think.) Polycotton sheets don't look any different after ironing, nor do towels. Duvet covers and sheets loose that ironed look and feel in less minutes than it took you to iron them, lol.

  • I iron very little - every top that comes out of the washing machine gets put on a hanger and straightened and then hung over a door to dry, trousers get straightened and folded and put on a radiator.

In the summer I am very careful with what I put on the line and fold as it comes off.

I do iron bedding though as I love the feeling of fresh ironed cotton to sleep in.

Can I send my ironing to you then?

I hate it more than anything in the whole world:o
I need to be in the mood to do it, unfortunately it doenst come often, I only iron when needed
No point in here cos the kids mess it all up anyway, getting the t shirt at the bottom of the pile:mad:

I don't put my t-shirts in piles. I iron them than put them on a hanger. I was fed-up of t-shirts getting crumpled in messy drawers.
  • :o I don't iron anything really :o Unless I have a job interview or posh event to go to!

I have a job where I dress semi-casual, I wear polo shirt which is non-iron and jeans. I am a youth worker so spend half my time in a river or cave anyways! And I just hang up my non-work clothes when dry so creases fall out.

ps am I still allowed on OS board after admitting this? :rotfl:

admits to ironing almost everything including dusters...
    I don't iron socks though!
    I like ironing tbh...
    .

Same here. I iron my dishcloths (as well as the dusters and rags) too. They're in the left corner. I took a photo of my drawer. Now that's doubly sad. :o

I never realised that so many people don't iron.
I love the smell and the steam and the noise of the iron. It's very satisfying. I know, I should get a life.:D

Just for interest, everyone seen this video "How to Fold A T-shirt in 2 seconds"?

Ever since I found this method and more importantly, taught the kids how to do it, no T-shirt, polo shirt, sweatshirt or sweater in our house remains unfolded. They even show their friends how to do it when they come round, like it was a party trick or something, lol!

  • I am also one that irons nothing at all.

I find if you take the clothes from the washing machine as soon as it finishes and put it on the line after giving a little shake there really is no need to iron, done it like this for years now and noone has ever said my clothes look creased :D.
