I don't iron anything because my DH does it:D As soon as a load is dry he whips out the iron and board and has it all done. I have to put it away though as he hates doing that bit.

  • I don't own an iron.
Also I don't own a washing machine so get the local laundrette to do a service wash, not MS but I live on a boat so don't have the space for a WM or the drying space. They fold it straight from the dryer so nothing needs ironing anyway.
Can you do wunderweb with hair straighteners? I've got a pair of them, used once.

Just had a thought, there used to be a lot more ironing done when I lived with my ex - he did it naked and I encouraged it whenever possible :D

Life is too short to do ironing. If pushed, I'll iron the front bit and collar of a shirt. Then I wear a jacket over the rest. I just hang stuff up carefully while wet, or fold it when it comes out of the drier. Job done.

My brother's MIL irons everything, even her undies. I got a well-deserved slap round the head once for pointing out it was a waste of time, because once her a**e was in there, there'd be no room for creases anyway.

Mr LW has been known to do the washing up naked - but methinks this could be the start of a new thread if we're not careful!:rotfl:
He always irons fully clothed, though.:(:D

DH remembers an old rhyme about ironing shirts
First the collar then the cuff
Then the front and that's enough

I thought he learned it at CCF but he says no they made them iron REALLY carefully.

Have you noticed Americans never seem to iron, they all talk about hanging things up as soon as they come out of the dryer. Plus it seems like they don't use washing lines much either. (In fact I think some neighbourhoods ban them even at the back of the house in your own garden).

I've often wondered how Flylady would cope if she had to iron and how long her routines would take then. You don't get much ironing done in 15 minutes if your husband likes pure cotton shirts!!
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!
