Thanks for this, I've been looking for a driving tutor for months - £19 an hour prepaid is a good price for a large company. I work right next door to Halford's so I'll pop in after work! hopefully i'll be on wheels soon!!!0

Just had to post a massive thankyou!!
You guys just saved my sister an absolute fortune. She has just had to dump her AA driving instructor (due to him smoking during lessons and being unprofessional) so she was looking to book with BSM anyway.
I've managed to bag 16 hours (from 3 stores) with a massive saving of £229.07
Thank you sooo much!0 -
Have just managed to grab 25 hours from 2 stores, I left 2 X 2 hour packs in Kirkstall leeds at 4.30pm and that was all they had. They may not be on display so ask at the checkout. I had to show the store manager where the vouchers were and how to validate them. Shows you how often they must have sold these things.
I am going to look at another store now. Many thanks to original poster, without him, or her, I would never have started lessons (assuming BSM accept the vouchers)
I wonder...
a) are BSM and Halfords the same company?
b) why don't halfords just bin/burn these vouchers rather than lose money on them?
c) how many lessons would someone need on average? I get varying estimates. I know it mainly depends on the learner.... Hmmm a difficult one.0 -

Yes they just stamp the main 4 hour voucher and date it and thats it. The store manager started reading through the paper and theory test application form for some reason
:rotfl:
Edit:
Actually I am concerned myself now reading through terms and conditions. It does clearly state "validation sticker". There is a component of the voucher which states "valid" but no sticker was put on. Can anyone clarify this point?0 -

Don't worry. All that is required is for the store to rubber stamp the back of the 1, 2 or 4 hour voucher and date it. I took 2 x 4 hours to my local BSM on Tuesday, exchanged them for 8 hours of lessons, which I had already paid for, and then got refunded the £180 charged to my credit card.0 -

b) Dunno.I guess they never actually paid full price for them anyway, so they're not losing money...
c) I'd say between 20-40, depending on the person. I've had 18 and have got my test coming up in a couple of weeks ( ), but I did take lessons about 10 years ago as well...0 -
Another big thank you.
Went into another local store to pick up more lessons, and the gods must be smiling on me as the KIT 3 was incorrectly priced at £17.49 so picked up the last 3 . went through OK.
Lesson price £4.37 plus 3 hours in the simulator (they recommend you have 2 before geting in the car)
Again big thank you0 -
taken from the DSA website (the people that do the tests)
