It's down to priorities, and learning to drive is not a huge priority, learning to pass the test is.
As to the instructors, the adverts from instructor training companies say 'earn over £600/week as a driving instructor', people see that get suckered in, and then learn that after they pay their costs it's more like £250/week. It's not always the business savvy who become instructors.
And yes I did choose this profession, my gripe is not about the job but the attitude of the general public that we're making easy money.
But going back to my original post I was only making the point about buyer beware. If you see a driving school advertising 10 lessons for £100, as an example, treat with caution. You often get what you pay for.
Good luck to all who are learning to drive.
I dont have a mobile bill well over £100 every single month and so what if i did , does that mean just cause i pay a £100 a month for a bill that i should get charged the earth to take a driving lesson? maybe suggest them to change there tarrif
Yes passing my test is a big major importance to me at the moment so i feel like i can have freedom , of course learning to drive is to as you need to learn to drive to pass your test.
Quite frankly maybe its best if you did leave the profession because with an attitude like yours , im sure some of your students are bound to fail :rolleyes20 -

Your attitude stinks!
I understand your point though. My cousin is currently learning and paid £100 for 10 hours of lessons. Now with the price of petrol, I'm sure driving around up and down the gears in city centres for an hour will cost about £5-7 in petrol anyway. I can't see how they make any money!
It's my sister's birthday in a month, but I think I will just go to a local instructor as any further lessons will be charged at a more affordable price for her!0 -
Striking balance on the B.O issue I learned to drive nearly thirty years ago in the middle of summer, my instructor smelled like a dead skunk on gas mark 7!
I swear if a fly had landed on him it would have puked up:eek:
However I did pass so my vote is for the smelly peopleFour guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
I think we have now got to the point where personal experience is perhaps clouding the premise of the original thread. There is nothing wrong with discussion, but we are heading toward argument which isn't what we wish to see. Please Be Nice To Other Moneysavers.
