I dont think its all that bad to sell them on ebay. I went to my nearest Halfords to get the vouchers and they didnt have any. Unfortunately I didnt have time to go to the other Halfords (which had probably sold out too) so at least I have the other option of ebay. I dont mind spending a bit more than I would have at Halfords as long as its much less than if I bought them direct from BSM. However I have seen one "buy it now" for almost same price as direct from BSM. Now that P***** me off slightly0

This world is turning to a free for all. People spend their day sat trying to buy tickets for concerts they don't want to go to just to make money from selling the tickets on. People buy driving lessons without wanting any lessons, just to make money to sell them on. This leaves people who can pay the "ebay mark up" getting the tickets and the ebay seller making money and (often) not paying income tax - and your average hard working person paying income tax who wanted to go to a concert to see an artist they want to see unable to go, because someone who couldn't be bothered to work wanted a few quid.
He wanted to buy 4 tickets and due to glitch on the website ended up being charged 2x, giving him 8 tickets. We can use a 5th okay, but are going to be stuck with 3, now that's £105 he needs and has been taken off his CC for some time, so he's had to pay interest on that. He may have to try and sell on Ebay yet if we can't find others that are interested
And before anyone says why didn't you send them back to the company, the tickets haven't been due to be posted out yet...................despite the fact some people have been offering them on Ebay already!:rolleyes::rolleyes:Honorary Northern Bird bestowed by AnselmI'm a Board Guide and volunteer to help get your forum questions answered and keep the forum running smoothly on Special Occasions, Green/Ethical, Motoring/Overseas/UK Travel & Flood boards, it's not part of my role to deal with reportable posts. How do you use them.
Do you hand them as and when you take lessons or at the start,
if at the start how do you know how many you would need.
Are there any Minimum per person.0 -
It says in the pack that you can either visit a centre and hand them in or you hand them in on your first lesson.
You can hand them all in when you start and then if you need less lessons than you had vocuhers for, they will give you a refund but only in vouchers again so you can pass them onto someone else or sell them.
I think the minimum amount of lessons you need to book to start is 2 or 4 I can't remember.0 -
Yet you can afford to strip the shelves off the BSM packs so not that much in debt i guess?
People get themselves in debt , its a shame but it happens , i have a visa card to pay off , so i guess I'm in debt i think most people are.
I guess your lucky you can afford to move to a 2 bedroom place ...some people are stuck in council properties and maybe in a worse situation then yourselves and cant afford to bid silly prices on ebay for something they could of got at a great reduced price in Halfords if they had known ...I'm not having ago here as i can understand why you brought them to sell on ebay as you do have a kid support and are on a low income ,I'm just trying to see both sides.
I as not aiming my first rant at someone like you , but sellers who are greedy and are not in a situation like yourself.
Lastly don't ruin anyones ebay Auction for one its against there t&c and its just silly and immature.
So what you may have missed on a great buy but hopefully there will be some other great offer you will gain on.
BTW i found 3 BSM kit 2s but when i went to pay one of the vouchers was missingso i had to just have the 2 in the end ,still better then nothing
Damm thieves grrr0 -
Sorry guys - another long one....
You're totally right Dealmad, but as I said, I never bought the vouchers with the sole intention of putting them on eBay as has been made out by some people. They were originally a present for my partner but she suggested maybe selling some of them to recoup the cost of them as she felt she didn't need all of them. In hindsight I could've offered them to people on here and I'm sorry I didn't do that in the first place.
As for the expense of buying them, like I said we live in an area where she really needs to drive to get about (no bus stops and a 20 minute walk down a very busy main road to the nearest anything) so buying these vouchers has added to my credit card debt, but it's something that I feel we need. As I said, my partner suffers from Depression and staying holed up in a flat/house while I'm at work all day has just made things worse for her so even though it has meant adding to our debt, it has been a great opportunity for her to be able to afford driving lessons. And yes we are lucky to be able to move into a bigger house but trust me, it's cheap and not in the best area - we're moving so our daughter can have her own room and that's about it.anewman wrote:Some people use very similar excuses when they go to their local car boot sales to sell counterfeit DVD's but it doesn't usually stop them serving custodial sentences for the selling of counterfeit DVD's when they get caught. If someone is able to do all thats needed to sell on ebay, going to buy the things you want to make money on, making a listing (and doing so in order to maximise profit), pack things, go to post office, manage the money, handle e-mails and take action when things go wrong etc surely this indicates ability to work.
Again you are tarring us with the same brush but this time with people who are actually breaking the law by making and selling illegal counterfeit DVDs and doing this as a living whilst claiming benefits, rather than working. As I said before, my partner is a stay at home mum, partly by choice and partly because she feels she wouldn't be able to work in a public environment due to her depression, so she does have the time to do all those things that you mentioned. This doesn't mean she is a criminal or a bad person - she's just trying to do something to contribute to our bills.anewman wrote:The main thing that interested me in that auction I posted a link to was the fact the "Halfords" logo had been removed from the picture. Presumably the seller was concerned someone may go to halfords and see them cheaper, or look on the halfords website and see how much they could get them for and not pay over the odds to the seller (in fact over full price).
The point of that was, if we had left the word Halfords on the voucher, or pasted a message on the auction saying 'you can also buy these at Halfords for less than I'm selling them for' would they have sold? Chances are any potential buyers would've done what you said and then they wouldn't've sold, making it pointless to have done the listing in the first place. I personally don't feel that's sneaky but I suppose it's a matter of opinion.
If anyone wants to complain or make any comments about all this then please feel free to send me a PM and I'll definitly read it and reply. As has been mentioned before, this is a thread about an offer and shouldn't really be filled with a discussion about evil ebay sellers - there is a dedicated ebay section for that.
Dealmad - as I pointed out earlier, the vouchers need to be stamped by someone in the store to make them vaild so if it's any consolation, if they were stolen the vouchers will be useless to the thieving toe-rag!0 -
I hope you are planning to declare your profits to the taxman.0
