Apparently if you know of a good instructor you can ask for them, or if you don't like one ask for another.

Interesting, I guess they very batch to batch (mine fell into the 'old dusty stock' category ;)). Oh well, not the end of the world.

Does anybody know of any stores in the South West that may still have stock out of interest?

I know some of what I'm saying has been said before, but I feel the need to repeat it.

Firstly ALL driving instructors are self employed. BSM will more than likely not make up the difference on the lesson, between what you pay and what the instructor normally gets. If this is the case then don't expect to drive a lot whilst on these lessons, or expect the lessons to get dragged out.

We all like a bargain, but you get what you pay for.

I'm a driving instructor, and this is the reason I'm looking to leave the business. Contrary to popular belief we don't earn £20-£30/hr, it's more like £10/hr at the very most. In some places it's below £5/hr. The 2 questions that bug me most are how much and how long. Driving is dangerous, and yet hardly anyone asks how do you teach, what are your methods, will I learn to drive and not just learn to pass the test.

Don't be surprised if you get an instructor who has a Pink Badge (trainee) if you book using these vouchers, as the old heads will refuse your business.

If you are learning to drive check out this website https://www.smartdriving.co.uk. I have nothing to do with it, I am not paid by it, but I do use the lesson structure and have received additional training from the guy who owns the site. He's not affiliated with anyone so gives honest information and advice.

By the way if you aren't happy with your instructor complain to the school, if they are useless then complain to the DSA. The DSA take complaints seriously. Also if you instructor cancels a lesson without adequate notice he has to re-imburse you for your time, in the same way you would have to pay for a lesson if you cancelled.

I hope that helps, good luck to all who are learning to drive.

I have now been able to book my lessons over the phone. The main call centre had got it wrong as my local centre phoned me and asked if I wanted to book. I now just need to send them one of the vouchers in the post as a deposit and then give the rest to my instructor.

Cheers for the site, however, i don't think it would matter if these were Halfords vouchers, gift vouchers or even real money, either way they would be the same surely, as the instructor would probably not know about the Halfords vouchers.

Also, could you not place all these vouchers onto your account, rather than having to give them to an instructor?

When I booked the person on the phone just found my instructor based on what times I am available for lessons. The fact I had vouchers didn't seem to come into it
