My cousin used to work for BSM and he said they were an awful company to work for, as well as not providing the best tuition for learners.

I would recommend going with a private company, but unfortunately I can't as I want to learn in an automatic and the only ones that do automatic car lessons are the AA and BSM.

By the way, if you ring BSM to book lessons they use an 0845 number, but the AA use an 0800 number. Here are the contact details:

    The AA: https://www.theaa.com/allaboutcars/drivingschool/contact_us.jsp
    BSM: http://www.bsm.co.uk/contact_us/1.html

    Hiya :)
I have registered specifically to say thanks to the OP for this. My DH had stopped learning to drive because he just couldn't afford the lessons at the moment. Thanks to your post, OP, I have bought him 10 more hours which should be enough to get him through his test.

I learned with the loveliest and most ptient instructor ever 4 years ago with BSM and I really want DH to learn through them so i'm chuffed! As for contacting them to book lessons without using an 0845 number...try here http://www.saynoto0870.co.uk/ and search BSM for the geographic phone number for your local BSM offices ;)

    HURRAH and Thanks again

I suppose you could use this offer to give someone as a taster, then sign up with a local driving school, hopefully after having at least tried driving and got familiar with the controls (maybe ideal for 17 year olds first lessons?)

I would like to say a big thank you to the original post, I have bought my son 17 hours of driving, he is 17 in July. The lessons work out at £8.00 per hour, they should be £22.00 per hour. I bought every box in my local shop and am going to try and get some more, I don't know how many hours a new driver needs but if he is like his Mother it will be quite a few.

    Once again many thanks
