Morning! I maintained last night which I have done for three weeks now! Really going for it this week though need a loss to help my confidence!0
-
put on 0.5lb last night. i am really annoyed with myself as i thought i was doing well last week.
i had eaten my tea before i went as i was rushing off out afterwards so maybe that had something to do with it. might have stayed the same without a full tin of beans in my tummy!!
anyway I am motivated to give it 110% today and the rest of the week.
here is my menu for today - comments are welcome:
B: Satsuma, apple, muller and 2 alpen lights (HEB)
L: HM Chilli.
Snacks: Pack of ham, satsuma, apple and mullerlightEgg, SW chips and beans
HEA will be milk in tea throughout the day.
i am going to try for the 1/3 superfree foods which is recommended for extra easy so have highlighted the superfree stuff in bold. (HM chilli has lots of super free veg in it)
have not listed any syns for today. will see if i need any tonight.0 -
Hello everyone! I've been reading through the past threads with interest - just started SW again for the nth time. Going it alone this time though, well with OH anyway. Weird thing is, last time I had to drag him to class and now he's the one who wants to go back! Will see how we get on on our own first and maybe rejoin at a later date.
Anyway you seem like a lovely friendly bunch so I just thought I'd say hi
Btw Tykechick - what an amazing loss, you must be so proud of yourself!2011: [STRIKE]Houses[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]weddings[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]cats[/STRIKE]

:hello: Hi Blodwen, welcome to our SW thread :hello:
rupe - well done you - I can't resist mince pies either! Nic - we've got some Glenfiddich ones from Cotco in the cupboard (probably available elsewhere too) and they are TO DIE FOR!!! Sooo much flavour and sooo moist!0 -
Thanks Skint Catt, good to be here.
Just thought I'd share what I had for lunch (and tea last night) - made Quorn bolognese bake from this month's magazine (with slight modifications) and it was yummy! I normally pore over the recipes in magazines thinking 'ooh that looks lovely, I'll make that' only to promptly put it away never to be found again! But can recommend this one - I used soya mince instead of Quorn (2 syns for 200g of the Tesco one), reduced the pasta and added cannelini beans instead, and used parmesan instead of half fat cheese, but only needed 28g for the whole lot, which made 4 portions.
Made the cod mornay at the weekend and doing the butternut squash stew tonight - am loving trying out and fiddling with new recipes!2011: [STRIKE]Houses[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]weddings[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]cats[/STRIKE]

Does anyone else have PCOS and have you managed to lose weight? My hospital consultant just said "diet and exercise". Yes that is helpful (not)!!!
Hi 1 step closer and welcome to the thread.
Both my daughters have been diagnosed with PCOS. One has lost 5½ stone over the last 14 months (though she had a good start when she found her brand new husband had got another girl pregnant ) and the other lost 2stone then got pregnant and put 1½ on but has lost 2 again since his birth - also 14 months but no connection :rotfl:
So, although weight loss can be slow, it is possible so don't be downhearted. You do need to be committed to losing though, tweaking the plan in all sorts of ways won't work for you.
However, one big piece of advice is to start eating more. If you don't eat enough, your body will go into 'starvation mode' and hang on to every calorie you consume. You need to be eating regularly......3 meals a day with a snack in between. Use free foods wherever possible and eat until your appetite is fully satisfied. There is nothing to gain by cutting back on healthy extras, so be sure to have the ones you're allowed.
Keep posting and let us know how you're getting on
Welcome to you too Blodwen. It doesn't matter how many times you've rejoined SW. If this is the time you're fully committed you'll get to your target.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Hello everybody
I love mince pies too but I just daren't even think about them!
Went down town today and weighed myself on Boots scales. It was always going to be bad news wasn't it?!
Anyway I am going to STS until Boots scales tell me I'm 11st 12lb (they don't) and when I reach target I'll be glad I did this. It feels more official - like a class weigh in.
At the moment I'm a bit glum about it - but I'll get over it - I'm still very determined. I was just thinking today that even if I don't lose that much more weight I am NEVER going to put it back on again.
Hope everybody is having a good day. Stay positive.:rudolf:August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.0 -
i'm not a mince pie fan, its the tins of choccies that are brought in to work at this time of year that get me!0
-
Keep things crossed for me - off to WI now. And this time I'll be happy with a pound after 3 days of bad eating

Mince Pies are my favourite - I hated them until I was pregnant and I just craved them, then I couldn't stop!
I was a good girl 100% yesterday - mushroom rissotto for dinner, yummy stuff. Today is red day and I have only eaten a bowl of cereal today and two alpen lights all from my HE's. I worked last night so haven't been up long. Making a beef casserole for dinner tonight with loads of veggies.
Not sure what to spend sins on - glass of wine or a jacket spud?0
