Sorry if this is obvious but why are mullers no good for veggies? Is it the gelatine?

Hi, yes, mullers yogurt has gelatine in it.
  • Hello everyone

I have read a couple of pages of this thread and wanted to ask a couple of questions? You all seem really friendly!

I have struggled with my weight for years and it doesnt help that I have PCOS coupled with IBS which can be horrific at times. A friend of mine is following SW mostly red and has lost 30 pounds! Go her, I am so proud of her!

The PCOS is down haertening and I have read book after book and just got myself in a muddle. I dont think I eat enough, mostly salads, raw veg and then a soup with some meat but I do get complete blast outs. I have managed to lose a bit of weight through doing a lot of walking but am becoming absessive now :(

Does anyone else have PCOS and have you managed to lose weight? My hospital consultant just said "diet and exercise". Yes that is helpful (not)!!!

    Please help!

    Thank you

    Hi 1 step :hello:

I don't have any experience of PCOS but I know some members on the Minimin forum have it. SW is a very good healthy eating plan for a lot of 'problems'. My OH has IBS & diabetes and both have improved with the SW food I cook. He struggles with digesting meat with IBS so prefers the quorn mince I use for lasagne, cottage pie & chilli.
  • Gosh that was fast! Thank you for your reply - I have found (dont know if it is just me) but if I have too much starch with a meal it bloats me out and makes me,ahem, windy. I love the quorn pieces but hate the mince - reminds me of a pot noodle!

I am very nervous about doing this as I have failed so many times before.........

Lol, yes OH used to find that too - but he managed to find certain fruits which didn't have quite an effect (it was the apple peel that got him the worst I think!). I think it's fairly easy to find what suits on SW as no food is banned. Give it a go, we'll support you :D Will you be joining your friends class? It's always good to have someone you know there, although I've always done it 'alone' and made new friends there.
  • Not sure about joining a class, my friend did for the first couple of weeks to get the hang of it and thne used sheer will power to go it alone!

    What is minimins?

Minimins is another website. It has separate forums for all diets and they are very supportive on there. They are here too of course, but it's just the one thread on here! I have to say that you have to be VERY strict with yourself if doing it alone. My first consultant used to have a poster that said 98% of members who don't stay to class never reach target. I know I couldn't do it but everyone's different! Some of the ladies (and guys) on Minimins do it alone.
  • Thanks for that. I think once I get my head round things, my friend and I will encourage each other a great deal.

Off to bed now, will look in later in the week!

Evening everyone - have managed to resist eating any of the open packet of mince pies which my darling OH bought from tescos yesterday. I EVEN PUT THEM OUT FOR A GUEST, AND DIDN'T WAVER!
:T:T:beer::T:T for me - mince pies are one of my all time favourite foods.

Welldone rupe, its not easy at this time of year is it, you must have good will power.
I also love mince pies. I had never eaten a mince pie until 5 years ago (im 33) because none of my family liked them, I always turned my nose up at them, but then a friends gran gave me a home made one with brandy butter, it would of been impolite to say no. MY GOD soooo delicious, now I normally look forward to christmas so I can munch a few, but now Ive seen how many syns are in one, ill have to save my syns and just have one on xmas day I think, Ill make sure its the most delicious one I can get my hand on first though. off to have weetabix and dream of ooozy mince pie mmmmmm
