    Hi Jane and welcome back.

There are many people on this thread better qualified than me to give advice but I just want to send you lots of encouragement and say do go back to class next week.

I find that if you can just string a few good days together it will get you motivated again - the more you do the less you want to undo it - IYSWIM!

I get loads of motivation from this thread - we will do it!!

  • Hi Jane, I am still here but don't post very often! Yesterday was my birthday and it was not a good day eating or mood wise I'm afraid.

I had taken my little dog Charlie (a bichon ) to the park and he was attacked by a big staffordshire terrier. She got hold of Charlie by the throat and it took four of us to finally get her to let go. There was a lot of blood and both Charlie and I were both in shock. We got Charlie to the vets and the vet said that if Charlie hadn't had such a wide collar on it could have been much worse. He has 8 puncture/tear wounds to his throat, he was given pain killers and antibiotic injections plus a prescription for both. I dislocated my small finger and have a bruised and swollen hand from fighting with the other dog trying to get her off Charlie. It took 4 of us in the end to release him. Couldn't concentrate on the diet after all that and ended up having pizza delivered last night.

On the plus side, after a restless night for all of us Charlie seems a little perkier this morning and drank some water!

    Love
    Marion
ps - sorry for the depressing message.

I had a day off SW yesterday as was going out. I made a sensible choice. Salmon, jacket potato with veg and then topped it off with hollondaise sauce and one sachet thingy of butter!

Later in the evening had a little trifle. Not too bad a day, but back on track today. Just waiting for the rice to cook to have breakfast. Have a good day y'all. :)

Hi all, I'm good Lisa, thank you :) Trying to be ultra good this weekend until WI!

So sorry to hear about your little dog Marion - what an awful thing to happen! But I did find out Ribena Light (or one of those versions!) is free! Didn't know any Ribena was free!

Thanks to Consultant for Mrs Ivy again - she obviously doesn't read her book! lol I can't remember the last time I had some fresh juice! Used to miss it but not so bad now.

Cooked brekkie again here (free sausages, bacon & fried egg), then a lovely roast this evening - chicken, HEb roasties in frylight, cabbage, carrots & broccoli!

Ooooh I LOVE mushroom risotto!!!! OH makes it though - so I don't know how to now he's away :(

    This week I challenge myself to;
40 mins minimum on the Cross Trainer every day (Thurs - Sun might be difficult as we're away but will try to get a walk in each day!)
8 glasses of liquid a day (should be ok as I drink a fair bit)
At least 2 portions of speed (or super speed foods) as day. Need to buy more fruit for weekend at FIL's then!

Hi recovering spendaholic - welcome back to the thread!:T

OK - here's a few ideas from me - feel free to completely ignore them if you think 'well duh - I know all that!':D

I lost about 4 stone a few years ago - so while I know that is not as much as you would like to lose, it does put me in the 'more than a stone' to lose category (still have at least a stone to get rid of, but I have been struggling with that for a couple of years - thats another story!);)

I honestly found the most helpful things were walking every day - doesn't have to be fast, and you don't have to wear exercise gear - you just need to get a bit sweaty and keep doing it every day! If walking is painful for you - get a Rosemary Conley exercise DVD and do the low impact version of everything. Start off with as many minutes as you can manage - and keep going each day.

Also GREEN DAYS all the way - especially to start, I absolutely stuffed myself with jacket potatoes, rice all that kind of stuff. Don't worry about what a 'reasonable'portion is (to start with anyway) - eat enough to feel full - find some veggies that you like and cook LOTS of them. And I still never leave the fridge empty of Mullerlite yogurts - they are brilliant, free of syns and you can add all sorts of fruit to them (bananas, grapes, apple - al of the above!).

Also - don't get on the scales too often - its depressing;)

Give yourself a week to stick to it - and see what happens - then another week etc. Think in terms of weeks - its really helped for me. 7 days is not so many.

Finally (long post sorry) - I used to keep all my syns til the evening, and then go and buy something I wanted - eg a milky way or curly wurly. I wouldn't keep that stuff in the house, becuause I would eat it during the day - then be really tempted to go over in the evening.

Hope that some of this is helpful. x
