can i ask when people refer to 100% days is that a day with no syns at all ? i must do more strict days but don't know whether i could do without even 4-5 syns !
    thanks

A 100% day is where you stick to plan 100% percent with no cheating. So you have the correct amount of healthy extras and stay within your syn allowance. No sneaking bites of stuff and not counting them or having a bit extra cheese or cereal or any other hea/b and thinking it'll be fine. It's basically following plan as you would as a newby.
  • I count a 100% day as using 10 sins as that works for me.

I'm starting to think I'm a bit weird! Lots of people here and an another board I visit are talking about 100% days and managing a run of x or y 100% days. For me every day should be 100%! In the 11 months it took me to get to target I could count on one hand (and still have fingers left) the number of days where I didn't follow the plan to the letter.

You must be one in a million! Well done though. May I ask you a question. Did you continue to lose weight on doing the exact plan 100% plus 10 syns, or did you have to cut down as you got close to target.?I am asking as I have never got to target despite doing s. world three times. My fault entirely as have given up.

Also does anyone have lots of Muller Light yogurts and still lose the weight?

Well yes, you're right and I admire your iron willpower.

I can only speak for myself and my problem is that I have quite a lot of baggage around slimming - I can eat when I'm bored, when I'm annoyed, when I'm worried...you name it. I can see that this is basically one problem - eating the wrong food (ie not free food) for the wrong reasons - but it has taken some tackling and has scuppered my weight loss many times.

Recently I've done better than for a long time and am getting somewhere but it is an ongoing process. Often I need to recharge my motivation which is why reading the posts on here and seeing how other people cope with all the things that trip us up and sharing their successes is so invaluable.

The reason I don't manage runs of 100% days is that I regulary save syns for my weekends - I have to as my FIL's house is so SW un-friendly. So whereas I try to keep to 5 syns most days, I often go to 20 - 30 syns at a weekend so I don't count this as 100% day even though I'm within my limit for the week.

Using the term "100% day" means that you have followed the plan exactly as it is set out for you in the Food Optimising book. This includes up to 15 syns a day, so if you have no syns, you're not actually following the plan as you're meant to.

Circes: you're not weird, just very committed. It would be lovely if everyone had the same drive, but unfortunately, as I'm always telling my members, Food Optimising is easy, but life often isn't! It's no shame to fall at a hurdle, the shame is in staying down. The only way forward is to get back on the plan asap - which also shows committment. :)

Skint_Catt: I hope you're back on form now. There are always going to be times when you feel cheated having followed the plan fully, but you know that it will show either in pounds lost next week or in inches lost. Climb back on the wagon and keep chugging along....you will NOT be a fat bride, you will look gorgeous :D
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Thanks consultant - feeling a bit better & the day started well, but I've been bad tonight which is actually quite hard as I have very little non-SW friendly food in the house! Back to it and the exercise tomorrow though!
