Try remembering the reasons you want to lose weight? Remember the weeks you've tried hard so far and if you don't get back on plan that was all for nothing? Have a look at some photo's you don't like (I have plenty but you may not necessarily have any!) and realise you've gone a long way down the road so why turn back now?
Sorry can't help - I'm not that great at things myself (except at the mo) - I just have to keep thinking about how much I DO NOT want to be a fat bride next year. I have a hell of a way to go and want to get a head start before Christmas.

I need help, I'm starting to lose motivation!

I lost the plot at work this morning as I was feeling so stressed, I was in tears for a while........long story.

Needless to say eating healthy has gone right out the window, I had a cheese and mayonnaise sandwich for breakfast for gods sake!

I'm too tired to cook this evening and really fancy a beer, seems like it's all going out the window after I'd been doing so well :(

Part of me thinks I should say nuts to it, let the weekend go and get started again on Monday, the other part says why bother as you can't stick to it!

I don't have the energy or willing to eat healthy or exercise in this weather, what can I do?!
Lizzy, treat yourself gently if you're feeling a bit fragile, and stick with it over the weekend if you can - a 'sod it' weekend can cost a few pounds; just not worth it. Allow yourself a few flexible syns but don't just let it all go. Stay in control, you can do this!!

Post again and let us know how you are doing with it.

    C'mon now!

Thanks all, I gave in this evening, had a pint at the local and had a takeaway with OH. I really enjoyed it too.

I've drawn a line under it now though and will have time at the weekend to relax, rest and get going again with SW properly, I know it works as it has done before. I just need to give it a chance.

I know I can do it, thanks again

Hello everybody - hope it's going well.

OK - so far so good.

I've had toast, banana and yoghurt for breakfast and a stir fry with noodles for dinner and I'm up to 6.5 syns.

Tonight I plan to eat baked potato, rice salad and salad and resist quiche and pizza and pringles and chocolate fingers and fig rolls (love fig rolls!) I will be strong...wish me luck (it's not luck I hear you cry!)
I'm with you on the fig rolls! Which do you think are best, and how many syns do you allow? I think it's 3, according to my book, but don't know if they vary.
  • for anyone wanting to try scan bran they're included in the "buy one get one half price" offer at Holland & Barratts

I've just been printing off a few recipes to try there's quite a few on the sw lifeline website and also here :

    http://www.minimins.com/slimming-world/109943-scan-bran-recipe-thread.html

(not checked to see if any duplicates yet)

and here's one for scan bran rhubarb crumble (found on facebook!)

    4 Scan Bran + 1 weetabix (healthy Extra b)
    198g rhubarb = 1/2 syn
Artificial sweetener - sprinkled on top of rhubarb

Cook the rhubarb in the microwave with a tiny bit of water for about a minute. Soften the scan bran with boiling water and drain and then mash with the weetabix and place this on top of the rhubarb. put it in the oven for 15-20 mins just to crisp it up
can serve with a pot of mullerlight banana custard warmed up in the microwave for 40 seconds (ish)

mmm might have this today or tomorrow if I can get some rhubarb

    hope this is helpful :D

Morning all, I feel a bit run down today :(

Oh well, no excuse to eat badly :)

I've had marions breakfast rice this morning, a huge bowlful which was sooooo good! that'll keep me going till lunchtime.

I don't know what to eat later on though I do fancy something with pasta this evening, perhaps a home made sauce with tomatoes and carrots.

I'm going to make leek and potato soup this evening for supper, really looking forward to it :) I was going to have a brownie at a local cafe this afternoon but I think I'll save my syns for some crusty bread to go with the soup, can't wait :D
