Can I share this with you? I made it when I did Rosemary Conley (for a short while) and it is to die for (well I love kidney beans & spicy things!) I think I worked it out as 0.5syns for the entire thing - so effectively no syns if you share it between 2 or 4! ;)

    Serves 4
    Preparation time 10 minutes
    Cooking time 25 minutes
    Ingredients

    • 1 medium red onion, finely chopped
    • 1 small red chilli, sliced
    • 1 x 225g can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
    • 1 x 225g can red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
    • 1 large can chopped tomatoes
    • 600ml (1 pint) vegetable stock
    • 1 tbsp tomato puree
    • 2 tsps chopped fresh oregano
    • salt and freshly ground black pepper
    Preperation

    1. Preheat a non stick wok or frying pan.
    2. Dry-fry the onion and chilli for 4–5 minutes.
    3. Transfer to a saucepan and add the remaining ingredients.
    4. Simmer gently for 20 minutes.
    5. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  • Ohhh my DP would love that! I like finding recipe dsthat he would eat.

astonsmummy - yes 2 syns per portion. I must admit I'm not keen on turkey mince either - no idea why 'cause I love turkey - but it always has that undercooked taste! Mum used to make burgers from it and they used to make me retch (TMI :rotfl:)

    Oh I love slimminworld!

Hi. Hope everybody had a good day.

Green day today - toast, banana and yogurt for breakfast. Pasta and sweetcorn for dinner (must make a batch of proper tomato sauce) and veg stew and bread for tea.

Again finished up DD1's pizza which took me up to 16.5 sins - must stop picking at leftovers even if it doesn't do much damage it's still a bad habit.

Red day tomorrow and I want to go swimming - but sometimes I just don't quite get there! Will have a go anyway.
August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.

    How old is your DD1?
Is she old enough to clear her own plate in the bin?
If not, a good tip which mt mate does is take the bottle of washing up liquid to the table when she gets her DD's plate and puts it over the food!
Luckily I physically cant eat someones left overs it just makes me feel ill, never used to though.

Thank you astonsmummy - I might get them all to do that - they are all old enough!

But I do like to salvage anything from their teas that is reusable.

From now on I will keep the free stuff and chuck the synned stuff. It's down to me not letting myself be a dustbin really isn't it?!

I weighed myself this morning too though WI isn't til Saturday morning and I think I might get a good result this week. Here's to 2 good days!

My 5 year old clears his own plate, not that he would let me even if I wanted too, so independant, which can be a problme at school sometimes!

I'm just off to sort boys out and have a breakfast incase my day turns to another drama filled one!

:hello: Red day today though still full of cold so not particularly hungry.

Going out for most of the day so just cooking up sausage, bacon & egg. Prawn stirfry for dinner I think :D

How can I make a good SW friendly tasty, cheese sauce?? (for lasagne)
  • Hi guys,

    Hope everyone is well.

Well I had my 2nd WI last night and lost 2 and a half pounds! Woop I got my half stone award (in two weeks!) and slimmer of the week (yay- got the basket of fruit)
Was a little displeased tho cos the mate I go with had a crappy week with tea out at the pub a couple of nites and just generally being a bit bad and I was good and she lost the same as me!

I left last week's food diary with my consultant and she has written on it that I should try eating more free food so that I fill up on that and eat less non free food. However im having trouble finding things - I have no problem eating fruit cos I love it and have always eaten loads and i like veg but other than having carrot sticks or a plain salad im stuck. There's only so much fruit I can have! lol

Any one got any ideas of any free convience foods (like those Savory Rice or pasta n sauce things) for any of the plans, that I can fill up on at my work?

    Many Thanks

    S x
