Hi welldone on the loss :T
jeans are usually only around 1/2-1lb more. I wouldnt worry about it and stick to 3 1/2 off, it will even out if you wear the same trousers next week. You might find there was no difference between what you were wearing. I used to wear the same black trousers and a vest top everyweek, i felt like i was stripping off in the winter and still wearing vest tops.First Weigh in tonight lost 3 1/2 lb's, but was wearing Jeans last week and in light work uniform this week so wonder if at all or how much this could affect weight loss? Does anyone know? not got scales in house. Cheers:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
First weigh in tonight - lost 2lbs. Did think it would be more as I have done loads of exercise (cycling and walking).
I might try a few green days this week. Jacket potatoes/baked beans pasta/baked beans with h/e cheese on top, sounds healthy and cheap.
I hope you all are a bunch of losers this week

Spicy Beef Curry
(we usually make this with quorn chunks so free with rice on a green but we used beef this time - it was a bit more watery - I suppose the quorn usually absorbs this - so we had to add some cornflour to thicken.)
Serves 4
2 onions
5 garlic cloves
454g extra-lean beef
2 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp ground ginger
2 tsp ground tumeric
2 tsp ground coriander
0/5 tsp chilli powder
2 tbsp freshly chopped coriander
1pt beef stock made with Bovril
1 tbsp freshly chopped root ginger
4 cloves
4 cardamom pods
2.5cm cinnamon stick
1 tsp ground coriander seeds
3 tomato's (or a can of chopped)
5 tbsp very low fat natural yoghurt (a large tub in other words!)
peel & chop onions, peel & crush garlic. place in a pan with half the stock, cover and bring to th boil. cook for 10 mins, uncover & simmer for 20 minutes until the onions are syrupy & tender.
Stir in the remaining spices & beef and cook gently for 2-3 minutes. meanwhile skin the tomatos (pierce skin, place in hot water then peel & chop) or add can. Stir in yoghurt then add the remaining stock and heat through until it reaches simmering point.
cover & simmer for 25 minutes. stir occasionally to prevent the sauce sticking.
We always double up the recipe so there's enough in the freezer for another quick night0 -
could anyone suggest some nice sausages to cook. I tried quorn red onion and something or other and thought they were absolutely disgusting. I mainly shop at Sainsbugs or Waitrose..I would normally buy high meat content ones0

Someone asked about cooking salmon a while back on last thread. Sharwoods do a really nice spice mix especially for fish - about £1.30 or so. I use it on salmon baked in foil and it makes it taste a lot more interesting.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Hi everyone, just wanted to share a recipe with you that a kind lady made and brought to class on Monday. I like it, it's a very strange texture but good for a sweet tooth moment.
Cous Cous Cake:A (total of 3 syns - around 6 large servings)
4oz cous cous - cover with boiled water 5-10 mins
2 eggs beaten
2 tablespoons of lemon curd (3 syns I believe)
4 tablespoons of sweetner
1 x mullerlight yogart
Rind and juice of 1 lemon
When cous cous ready, mix all the ingredients together, put in a microwavable container and cook on high for 10-12 mins. When cool turn out onto a plate.
As I said above the texture is odd - may be nice with sliced strawberries and kiwi fruit on the top or served with another muller or fat free yogart. I liked it warm or cold.
Hope you like it.
I stayed the same this week. I feel like I'd lost but had been out for 3 meals, had been good and careful with syns. Still 7.5lb in 3 weeks - happy with that. Hoping for a good one this week.:T0 -
I am still a bit confused, and have not realised my bran flakes on my green days were not so good for me. So this morning I decided to have an omelette for breakfast, which consisted of three eggs, 1 light laughing cow and sauteed mushrooms (in frylight). Does this sound ok? better than 1oz of bran flakes with s/s milk?0
