why is it just as you start a diet you also get a social life just when you don't want one?! I have to go to my inlaws the following weekend and they think dieting is nonsense. They have such sweet tooths that it's all cake and biscuits and desserts and everything cooked in oil (I once caught my MIL throwing some lard into the pan to make me a fried egg - I made hubby eat it as just the thoughty made me want to gag!!). Think i will just try and take a stock of alpen bars and eat as little as poss at mealtimes!
Get out your acting skills, don't mention you are on a diet and tell them you are either diabetic, have high cholesterol, dyspepsia, or anything else you think you can get away with saying!:D:rotfl: Keep a straight face and try not to make eye contact!
You should try and use your syns by the way, you will find that you will lose weight quicker when you have them.
Good Luck

I agree nic! Did feel for the girl who put on 2lb though0

Haven't got any books yet as joined online as work different shifts each week so classes would be tricky. Have joined as Gold though so hopefully books should be winging there way to me0

I know Marion, but to be honest I have really struggled to use them this week- just haven't felt I needed them. I have been counting the milk I have in tea/coffee and having an alternative Hexa. To be honest my head is spinning trying to get into the diet and working out all my choices each day that I just haven't got around to making wise syn choices yet! maybe next week I will be better organised.Joined SW Jan 10Start weight: 10st 12 1/2Target #1: 10stCurrent weight: 10st 5Loss to date: :T6.5 lbs (wk1 -2.5, wk2 -2.5, wk3, STS, wk4 -1.5, wk5 +0.5

yeah that was ashame, especially as they hardly gave her any words of support, other than dont worry, that can happen !.
Surely all they have lost in 4 days is water?
They always say that at class in the first week as its usually a big loss, its usually water, the 2nd week is more realistic.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -

Me too! The problem with being on such a low calorie diet is that the weight will come back as soon as they start eating normally again - especially for th eone who was eating 3 pork pies a day!:rotfl:When life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!0 -
Yeah I think you'd lose enough water to get into the dress by 14 days but then day after you'd put it all back on again! Or even on the night when you start eating & drinking you'd bust your dress :rotfl:0

Don't stress about it moosie! As you get to know the plan better you will relax into it and you will find it comes naturally. You don't have to be perfect - very few of us are. Sometimes we have a perfect day - but it is fairly rare and is a reason for celebration! Just try your best! :beer:When life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!0 -
I am really impressed by those of you you seem to have this totally sussed. Fingers crossed that will be me soon
Did WW (am I allowed to mention this on a SW thread!!!!!) in 2001 and lost 4 stone but obviously put it back on or I wouldn't be here. Thought would give SW a go as seems more compatible with family
PS Check out my new sig0 -
Hi all
Nice to see you Marion - have missed you!:j
Yes - I also thought that diet show was a bit rubbish - especially Anna Richardson at 9 stone whatever going on about wanting to lose weight. She looks fab, and tbh I think its sending out a few dodgey messages. MIND YOU it was an eye-opener about calories and portion sizes etc.
Me and the rugrats cheered when that lady who had given up chocolate ordered the crumble during her meal out. Well done her!
OK - enough of that.
My first weigh-in this morning after re-joining. Lost 2lbs - I was hoping for three, but thats reasonable. Hadn't quite got my head completely round EE - my consultant looked at my food diary and said 'but where's the meat!?':rotfl:Hmm - bit of tweaking to be done. ALSO got to work and Auntie Flo had come to visit (shall we say:rolleyes:) - so on balance - not a bad first week.Onward and upward - with the odd step to the side
