Thanks Rupe, glad to be back! That bit in the program when her husband took her to the restaurant to "test" her - what a horrible husband. I would have killed mine if he tried to do that to me! Mind you - I would have ordered chocolate :rotfl::rotfl:! But I can't think of anything worse that a husband that nags me about sticking to my diet and then taking me to a restaurant to see if I fail or not:eek: Traitor to mankind:eek::eek:!

Thanks Skint_Catt
I have a few stone to lose and on 1 of the numerous times I joined I lost nearly 2 stone..so I know it works.
I don't have much willpower when it comes to weekends but am determined this time, for health reasons too.
It's great to come on here and get lots of tips.

3lbs is great!! especially if you weren't 100% at the weekend. On to a good next week!
Thanks Skint_catt, I will leave it at a syn.
Thanks JemmaBe
Going to be good this week...weekends are a nightmare.

Hi everybody
You are all doing very well in the new year...unlike me:mad:.
For the last two days I have started off very well and in the evening eaten something stupid left over from Christmas.
On Monday I had a good green day then ate cake and last night I had a couple of handfuls of nuts and another slice of Christmas cake after a god EE day.
I think I'm going to have to use the 'it's been spat on' strategy! I don't like to throw things away because a) it feels wasteful and b) somebody else might want it but I have got to get a grip here!
Any advice or a kick up the a**e would be welcome!August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.0 -
Hi Everyone - I have just recently started SW (again:o) but am doing it online with Bodyoptimise and I have a few questions after having read through the last few pages of this thread, which I hope that some of you will be able to answer!
Is the programme changing? I have read that they are changing the superfree foods and the syns of some stuff - is this right? I chose not to get the books with my membership because I have the books from when I went to class, but now I am wondering whether or not to upgrade if the books have changed? I have noticed (from syns online) that oxo cubes are now free which is useful for me when making mince, chilli etc.
You know the one third principle with EE? Well, sometimes I have a jacket potato and beans, followed by a couple of pieces of fresh fruit for a meal. Does the fruit count towards the one third?
How big portions do you all eat? If I am having beans and Jacket potato I have a large jacket and a full tin of beans - do you have to moderate your portion sizes more with EE?
Can you have more than one mullerlight a day?
Sorry if these questions seem stupid, but I am determined to give this 100% this time and want to make sure that I do everything right!
I have just had a muller light with chopped up fruit for breakfast, and am planning to have baked potato and beans (I love the Heinz smokey bbq ones), followed by fruit for lunch and chicken thighs with savoury rice and salad for tea. I was going to have another mullerlight for dessert but will wait until I find out if you can have more than one a day! HEA will be milk and HEB will be 2 weetabix which I save for my supper.
I feel in total despair about my weight and have been referred by my GP to see someone about weight loss surgery. The initial appointment is on 15th January and TBH I don't want to have surgery, but I need an operation and they are reluctant to do it unless I lose my weight and I am in desperation. I KNOW that SW works if you stick to it but my problem in the past has been that I don't keep proper track of my syns and Healthy extras.
Sorry for the long post.Jane

I feel for you Jane, I have been in the same position for years! My GP is pushing me towards surgery but I do think I can do it on my own with SW. My numbers are good re cholesterol and sugars etc. so think I will persevere with the plan for a little longer.
Your days eating plan sounds fine on EE and yes the fruit will count towards your third of a plate superfree foods. You can have more than one muller a day - within reason of course. We had a lady in our class who was eating 2 six packs a day - 12 mullerlights!!:eek: She couldn't understand why she wasn't losing weight:rolleyes:

Sorry for the long post.
I'll see if I can answer some of these for you.
The plans aren't changing as such, but Extra Easy is a fairly new plan and is slightly different from the Original and Green plans of old. With EE you only have 1 each of the healthy extras each day and the one third principle is not mandatory but makes for better weight losses, so your plan to have fruit to follow your meal will do nicely
Superfree foods have only changed in as much as almost all fruit and veg are superfree and the other things which used to be on the list (eggs, drinks etc) are still free but not regarded as s/free.
Syns are always changing and evolving so it pays to keep checking the website and the magazine for up-to-date news.
Portions are as big as you want them to be as long as it's free foods - there are no limits - eat until your appetite is satisfied. If we started limiting portion sizes, we'd not be Slimming World!!!!
Mullerlights (as far as I've been told by my Manager) are now synned (½ syn each for the plain fruity ones). You can have more than one, simply count the syns.
Please don't despair. You can lose weight fairly quickly and certainly healthily with SW. I lost a stone a month at the beginning of my journey. I found it exciting and therefore easy to stick to plan. Write everything down as you eat or drink and you won't lose count of your syns etc.
Weight loss surgery is ok I suppose, but there are risks with any surgery and it's not a quick fix, you still have to watch what you're eating. I have heard one or two stories of how easy it is to over-consume even though you have a band fitted.
You can ask as many questions as you need on here - there are no stupid questions, everybody has to learnI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
I've got cabin fever already! Can't go out in the car due to snow (and it's started heavily again) but got no fruit in so can't do EE. Having a green day until I can get out or brave a downhill walk to the supermarket (uphill on the way back!)
Brekkie; egg & baked beans & my last banana!
Lunch; penne, baked beans & cheese
Dinner; tiny bit of beef casserole left so will have that with leftover mash, carrots & green beans.
